Izuku was no stranger to getting flustered. In fact, Mina had made it her personal mission to ensure that her boyfriend never went a full day without turning at least three different shades of red.
It was a fun game for her. And today was no exception.
“Come on, Izu, just one bite?” Mina pouted, holding up a spoonful of her dessert—some ridiculously pink strawberry parfait, swirled with whipped cream and topped with a cherry.
Izuku shifted awkwardly in his seat, glancing around the nearly empty café. “M-Mina, I can eat my own, you know…”
His own dessert, a plain vanilla milkshake, sat untouched in front of him. He wasn’t about to admit that watching her enjoy hers had completely distracted him. Her bright golden eyes sparkled as she tilted her head, still holding out the spoon.
“But it’ll taste better if I feed you,” she insisted, a playful lilt in her voice.
Izuku groaned softly, but he knew there was no winning against her. Reluctantly, he leaned in, lips parting just enough to take the offered bite.
It was sweet. And not just the parfait. The moment he tasted it, Mina grinned, looking entirely too satisfied with herself.
“See? yummy, right?”
Izuku nodded quickly, hoping to move past his embarrassment. “Yeah… It’s good.”
Mina giggled. “Good boy.”
And that did it. Izuku covered his face with his hands, ears practically steaming as Mina’s laughter rang out. He loved her energy, but sometimes he wondered if she enjoyed watching him squirm a little too much.
Still, even as he melted into his flustered state, a small smile tugged at his lips.
After they finished their desserts, the two walked through the city streets, their hands brushing against each other occasionally. Izuku thought about reaching for her hand, but Mina beat him to it, her fingers curling around his with ease.
“Y’know, I think you’re getting braver,” she teased, swinging their joined hands lightly.
Izuku blinked at her. “What do you mean?”
“Well,” she mused, tapping her chin with her free hand, “back when we first started dating, you’d turn into a tomato just from sitting next to me. Now you’re letting me feed you and hold your hand in public. That’s major progress!”
Izuku chuckled nervously. “W-Well, I guess I’ve just gotten more used to… um, y-you.”
Mina gasped dramatically, her eyes twinkling with mischief. “Izuku Midoriya, are you saying I’m predictable ?”
“What?! No, no, I didn’t mean it like that—!”
Mina cackled at his panicked expression, squeezing his hand to reassure him. “Relax, babe, I’m just messing with you.”
Izuku sighed in relief, his shoulders loosening. “You really love teasing me, don’t you?”
“Of course I do!” she declared. “You’re super cute when you’re flustered. And I love making my boyfriend blush.”
Izuku felt his heart skip a beat at her words. He still wasn’t entirely used to being called her boyfriend , but every time he heard it, he felt this overwhelming warmth in his chest.
Mina, always full of energy, tugged him toward a park bench and plopped down, patting the spot next to her. He followed without hesitation, the cool evening air wrapping around them.
They sat in comfortable silence for a moment, watching as the city lights flickered on one by one. The sunset painted the sky in shades of pink and orange—almost as vibrant as Mina herself.
“…You know, I really like this,” she said suddenly.
Izuku turned to her. “Like what?”
“This. Us . ” She leaned against his shoulder, sighing contentedly. “Hanging out like this, just being together. It’s nice.”
Izuku’s lips parted slightly, his heart hammering in his chest. Mina wasn’t always the type to get sentimental—at least, not in a serious way. But when she did, it made his stomach do flips.
“I like it too,” he admitted.
Mina lifted her head, her golden eyes searching his face. Then, without warning, she reached up and gently pinched his cheek.
“You’re blushing again,” she teased.
Izuku groaned, pulling away slightly, but Mina just giggled, scooting closer.
“Izuku,” she said, her tone suddenly more affectionate than playful.
“Y-Yeah?”
She tilted her head, studying him for a moment before smiling. “You’re really cute, you know that?”
Izuku was sure his heart was about to burst. “M-Mina, please…”
Mina simply laughed, resting her head on his shoulder again. “Fine, fine, I’ll stop for now . But just so you know, I’m never gonna get tired of telling you how adorable you are.”
Izuku exhaled, half-exasperated, half-amused. “I had a feeling…”
They stayed like that for a while, Mina occasionally humming to herself as Izuku let himself relax. His nerves had settled now, and he realized just how much he enjoyed these moments.
No high-pressure hero training, no looming threats—just them, sitting together, fingers loosely intertwined.
