Medusa wasn’t shocked when she felt a tap on her shoulder during her revision time. Looking up, she saw Achilles.
Achilles had been her best friend since childhood. Achilles, who was her sparring partner when no one was looking. Achilles was basically her brother in all but blood. Achilles, who probably needed help cleaning up a mess he made.
She felt her lips tug into a big smile. Regardless of what he needed, she would be here to help. Someone needed to make sure he kept his golden boy image clean.
She reached up and grabbed his arm. “Achilles, sit down and tell me all your woes.”
Smiling bashfully, he let her pull him into the chair beside her.
"I saw," he paused and looked away breifly before his eye met hers again, "something."
Pursing her lips, she quickly glanced around the corner of the library they were at. Empty.
“Is this about Nott? I know that other vision messed with you. And I agree; there is something about him that doesn’t rub me the right way,” she whispered.
He smiled slightly and tugged on a golden lock that fell onto his face.
"No, it's not about Nott. Not this time. It's about that stupid color Green."
Medusa rolled her eyes. It's about Annie.
"Her name is Annie," Medusa corrected with a smile, knowing full well that Achilles would not correct himself.
"Anyway, I need to know who she is going to the ball with. "
Medusa raised an eyebrow. "What's in it for me?"
Achilles smirked and leaned closer to Medusa. Reaching towards her face, he brushed a curl behind her left ear.
"I'll make sure that Weasley you keep thinking about shows up."
Well then.
Smirking back, she replied, "I'll have your information tonight."

Entering the Slytherin common room, she quickly glanced around the room, looking for her target.
Her eyes stopped at the corner table by the big window, which was always stunning to look at. The amount of magic that went into that window to look into Black Lake was amazing.
Annie was sitting there, her chair leaning on the glass window, her feet perched on the table, Sugar Quill between her teeth while she read the latest edition of Witch Weekly.
"Annie," Medusa said as she perched herself on the table.
"Medusa! My favorite snake!" Annie grinned as she sat up.
Medusa channeled her magic and felt her curls become heavier; then they started to move on their own, scales glinting from the candlelight and soft hissing filling the air. Annie reached out and grabbed a curl that was now a cute snake.
"I seriously love that you can do this." Annie mentioned affectionately as she gave the snake a little head scratch.
Medusa laughed. "Thank you! Anyways, I got a question for you."
Annie's eyes looked into hers. "Yes?"
"Do you have a date for the ball?"
Annie didn't say anything for a moment, and she kept playing with the snakes, and they all were fighting for the attention she was giving them. Medusa let her have her moment. She had a feeling that Annie knew exactly who was wondering.
Then, Annie leaned in closer to Medusa.
"Want to go with me?" She whispered.
Well then, that solves Achilles's problem: "I would love to."

Achilles opened the letter that his owl had just delivered.
I'm her date. Bring Weasley as yours.
Love,
M
Warmth spread through his body. Perfect, Green will be safe with Medusa.
Then his smile slipped. Well fuck, how the heck is he going to convince Weasley to be his date.
~
Medusa looked into the mirror to admire her body. She wasn’t the classic thin that seemed to be becoming popular again; she had soft curves that allowed for someone to grab onto her easily.
Too much coffee and pastries at a particular coffee shop by a joke shop in Diagon Alley on the weekends, trying to glance at a certain red-headed man, also probably added to the softness.
She reached up to pin a curl of hair that was trying to go onto the wrong side of her part. Although having thick, long, natural curls was annoying at times, she has definitely been a fan of the decision to shave the right side of her head. Plus, the swirls she had added added a beautiful element.
Hmmm, grabbing another gold hairpin, she placed it into her hair.
There. Perfect.
The steampunk theme was unique and something she was all in for. Gold was her favorite color, and she couldn’t help but admire how the corset she wore pushed her breasts up.
Smiling, she left her room and found Annie downstairs talking with another student.
Medusa noticed the color of her dress. Green. Someone knew precisely who asked her out.
Medusa wrapped an arm around Annie's waist. "Ready?"
Annie's answer was to lean into Medusa and kiss her on the cheek.

The Great Hall was transformed into a steampunk dream. Gold details were everywhere: men in top hats, women in corsets, and dresses of various styles.
The band was playing in the background while couples danced on the floor.
Medusa stood by the edge of the room, observing the scenes in front of her. Annie stayed by her side for about 20 minutes before Lilli took her to the dance floor, leaving Theo standing next to her.
Medusa still wasn’t sure how she felt about Theo. Something about him rubbed her the wrong way. She could swear that she once saw his eyes flash red when he stared at Lili during a study session. It was so deep in her bones that something was off with him that even her snakes would hiss and recoil when he looked at them.
So, she didn’t bother with small talk and stood quietly beside him.
Another song started to play, and Kai and Gigi joined Annie and Lilli in a group dance.
Suddenly, her skin felt as if lightning had hit her. Her spine was suddenly straight as she turned to look behind her. Achilles and Ron Weasley were walking toward her.
Weasley's red hair was tussled, and dragon-riding goggles sat on his head. He was dressed in gold slacks, a white shirt, and a black vest with a gold design very similar to her own coreset. She lingered for a second on his pocket watch, noticing it had a snake design.
She could feel her body warm as she saw his eyes trace her from her knee-high boots and linger at her chest for a breath before connecting with her eyes.
“Medusa, this is Auror Weasley.” Achilles's voice sounded muffled. “Weasley, this is my best friend, Medusa Morningstar.”
A pale, freckled hand extended to her.
His smile was a half-smirk, and she reached out for a hand.
“Nice to finally be introduced.” And her heart skipped a beat. He has noticed her.
“It is.” She glanced at Achilles and saw him smirking at the two. Taking a deep breath, “This is a bit forward, but would you like to dance?” She was a woman who knew what she wanted. She just needed to shake this shyness away.
His eyes glanced to the dance floor and back at her.
He bowed and offered an arm.
“As you wish, My Lady.”

There, in the Great Hall, were various things happening at once.
Theo and Lilli were in a dark corner, arguing about something he noticed on her arm.
Achilles was dancing with Annie. Both refused to talk to each other, yet their bodies kept getting closer and closer.
Kai and Gigi were off doing shots with a group of other students.
And there at the corner of the dance floor was Medusa, whose fingers were woven into Wesley’s silky red locks, his hands pulled her closer to body as his lips moved from her lips down her neck.
A soft moan left her lips.
"Fuck, Do you want to go somewhere?" Weasley's voice was husky with lust and want.
"Yes, please."
-The End-
