Catnap laid in bed as notifications buzzed through his phone on the bedside table, it was messages being sent through the group-chat full of his online friends he made through his favourite game.
The purple feline sat up in bed as he picked up his phone to check the messages, rubbing the back of his neck while reading through.

Catnap quickly arose from his mattress to his setup, he sat down in his gaming chair and launched the game of which he played a lot in his free time. While waiting for the game to load up, he pressed join on the call where the rest of the group were already chatting in, waiting for his arrival.
“Hey, Moon joined the call!” Star exclaimed through the speakers of Catnap’s pc. “You joining the match yet?” Catnap heard Sunshine ask, “Yup, just waiting for the game to fully load!” He mentioned, moving his mouse around on his screen impatiently. Eventually, the loading screen ended and he clicked on the ‘join match’ button on the game UI. “Could I have the code guys?” He inquired, eager to play a game. “QV0HM8” Bulba answered as Catnap entered the code and joined the waiting lobby where 7 other members of his group awaited. “Thanks Bulb!” Catnap said in appreciation, giving a thumbs up to a screen where nobody could see him do it.
“Alright! Now that everyone’s here, we ready to load a match guys?” Thunder hops asked the call, in which was returned to with everyone responding with yeses. Except for Appled. “Apple?” Hops asked. Everyone in the call then heard a breathless Appled, crinkling a bag of what sounds like some doordash. “Sorry guys, I’m back now with food.” She panted. “At least it wasn’t during the match.” A sweet voice replied to Appled, of which belonged to Rainbow Flower. “Yeah, yeah Rainbow, I know about what I ‘usually’ do…” Appled groaned in her microphone, “Let’s just start the match alright!” She urged
The game then started, the group spawned in with one goal, to eliminate the other side. The members all got stationed. The healers, Rainbow and (a not previously mentioned) Hearty were in charge of keeping the rest of their party alive. The supports, Bulba and Appled help add buffs to the rest of their party in order to gain an advantage. The other 4, Thunder Hops, Star shine, Sun shine and Moon light were on the offence most of the time, Sun and Moon were more on the support side as Hops and Star gained on the opposing team.
As usual, the group of eight did a great job at dwindling down the opposing team, taking down their healers before attacking their supports. Due to attacking to fast on impulse, Star got himself killed before anyone else got a chance to use any abilities.
The call was then bombarded with “STAR WHAT THE HELL!!” “Omg Star you cant keep doing this…” “Star I swear to god you have to wait for Apple to give you regen before jumping in!” Various members inside the call called him out. Luckily, Rainbow had a revive she had to waste because of her friend's stupid actions. The game went on with no more problems, and the team got the win!
“Gosh that was a loooong game… You guys up for another?” Sunshine asked the call. “Nah, I’m good, I have an event I have to go to today.” Hops replied. “I have got limited gaming time because of my mom so I have to hop off too.” Star added. “I have an art project to work on. Sorry!” Rainbow apologised. “I have homework to do, it’s a lot and I dont want it to get overdue.” Bulba added on. “I’m gunna eat my food so cya!” Apple said before leaving the call along with the others. “I have my cousin’s birthday to go to so i wont be able to continue playing either.” Hearty soon also left the call.
Sunshine said loving goodbyes to everyone as they left the call until it was just him and Catnap. “Do you wanna keep playing Moon?” Sunshine asked Catnap.
Catnap sat up in his gaming chair, ears perking up at hearing his gamer tag. “Uhh I don’t mind! I don’t have anything going on right now!” Catnap answered, “We can play a match, if you’d want to Sunny.” He continued his sentence before the call fell silent. It wasn’t a harsh silence, it was a silence of reassuring warmth? Catnap stared at his monitor with a soft smile, awaiting Sunshine’s response.
“...Yeah, sure Moon!” Sunshine said slowly with a hint of obvious happiness. They both decide to practise their skills in 1v1s, counting their scores to see who’ll win in a playful manner.
The clock hit 00:00, Catnap took a glance at the clock before realising how long he and Sunshine have been playing for. “Oh, I haven’t even taken a look at the time! I guess I’ll have to hop off for the night.” Moonlight mentions. “Ahh you’re right Moon!” Sunshine replies in the same realisation. “I guess I should hop off too, I had a great time with you Moon, goodnight!” Sunshine says his goodbyes for the night as he left the call, with Catnap in tow.
Catnap rips off his headset from his ears as he sluggishly waddles toward his bed, covering his body with his blanket as he dozed off to sleep.
