A Frozen River

Summary:

Tecna tries to let the love of her life go, but can't.

Work Text:

Damnit Tecna had feelings too. And they were so strong for Musa.

Since she had begun dating Aisha, Musa claimed Tecna to be her best friend. And Aisha was certainly a step up from Riven.

When she was lost in the Omega Dimension, the only ones who never gave up on her were her best friend Timmy and the love of her life.

Now, here on Earth, watching them get engaged and talk about staying for Musa's singing career, Tecna shut down completely. She went to their engagement party, acted happy for them as Nabu suggested a toast. She raised her glass, strained a smile, and probably drank more that night than in the entirety of her life.

She probably started crushing on Musa the first time she saw her sing. The words still played in her head, ringing true to her now.

I'm like a frozen river that can flow no more, I'm here alone.

But was that really fair? Since the Winx Club, when had she ever been alone? But then why did she feel so alone without Musa's love?

If Aisha had never joined the Winx Club, would they have had a chance? Or would she still be chasing after Riven - a man who had left the Specialist team the moment they graduated? A man who never truly had feelings for her. She always wanted a badass who only had eyes for her. That was something Tecna could never give. But Aisha could.

Now at one in the morning, something she never thought she would do, Tecna could only stare at her phone at the photos she and Musa had taken together. She had always been so beautiful. From her tomboy days to all the pink crap she wore now, pigtails to flowing hair, she had always always been beautiful to Tecna.

She shut off her phone and stared at the ceiling. What if she had never come back from the Omega Dimension? Would Musa eventually realize how much she meant to her?

Did it matter? She had Aisha. And Tecna should be happy for her.

But she wasn't. She couldn't be.
