Chapter Text
The day was going as normal as they do when travelling with 8 other men who have not even a quarter as many brain cells as they do swords. They had landed in Wild’s Hyrule a day ago which Legend was not so happy about, it had nice views and lively wildlife but it was big, strange and the terrain was not always easy. Despite this it was one of the more pleasant ones (though maybe it was because Wild actually had a map to console).
Conversation had filtered over the group, Wild at the front, was telling Hyrule about the floral and fauna, Four and Sky chatting about swords, Time walked behind Wild glancing over at the map and vaguely looking around.
“What’cha thinking about?” Wars asked from beside Legend, “Wouldn’t you like to know, soldier boy.” Warriors hummed looking as though he wanted to say something as Twilight came out of the trees, “There’s a camp of monsters just north of us.” Behind Legend Wind whooped…since when was the kid there?
It had been a relatively easy fight, up until it wasn’t. Wild, Four and Sky had been distracted by the appearance of a stone monster which apparently didn’t camp out with moblins and bokoblins, and the rest of the chain was fighting the other monsters. There were some of Legend’s own mobs that seem to have had a power boost, that fucking black blood. Even as such he made pretty quick work of two with timed manoeuvres and a touch of his rod, turning to help with the rest, his eyes landed on a strange discoloured wizzrobe that danced in the air and around Warriors’ arrows. It levelled its wand at Time who swung at the moblin in front of him, back turned away from the wizzrobe, shit. “LOOK OUT!” Legend warned as the spell shot out.
Time turned his head slightly, pushing back on the moblin’s grip in an attempt to dodge, his sword was lodged in its ribs as the bright flash enveloped him. Shit! Legend thought as Wars finally got a shot on the floating bastard, it giggled before disappearing in it’s magic seemingly please with itself. “OLD MAN IS DOWN!” Wars shouted. The fighting was done quickly after that announcement, most of them hardly wounded.
Legend looked to were Time was…where he should have been at least. Making his way over was easy and fast with his boots, and he knelt down next to the unconscious blonde child. “…shit.” Most of the chain was coming over now, Four and Hyrule rushing over while Wars was supporting Twi with a twisted ankle. “What happened? Who is this?” Hyrule asked examining the boy. “Strange fucking wizzrobe hit the old man.” He replied. The kid was so small maybe 9 or 10 years old but Legend wasn’t a great judge of age.
To put it lightly, the rest of the chain were a bit less…calm. But in fairness Legend wasn’t quite sure why he was so chill with this sudden age change, guessing that’s what it actually was. The most chaotic reactions came from Twilight, Sky and Wars which was kind of a surprise considering how he usually handled the strange shit they were involuntarily involved in, Twilight and Sky had more panicked checks about the child and asking Hyrule if he was breathing (bit extreme Vet thought but maybe he’s concerningly unconcerned) Wars on the other hand had a hand full of swears, complains and words for Hylia that made Legend feel respectful.
“Fuck, fuck fuckedy fuck fuck…”
“Don’t pull out your hair pretty boy, he’s not dead.” If looks could kill Vet would be six feet under and if his eyes didn’t kill him he reckoned his hands would. Lucky for his life Captain’s attention had been drawn back to the tiny Time that was stirring on the ground, the kid opened his eyes with rapid intensity that rivalled how swiftly he was on his feet, back away from them with a sword drawn and a sneer across his face.
“Where the fuck- Captain…?” His face looked more confused than angry now as he looked over at the Captain, “…What’s going on?” Wars had a range of emotions fall upon his face, “Language Sprite.” “Fucking bitch.” Was the child’s response. Twilight spoke for everyone else when he quietly whispered, “What is going on..”
