Expōne Cor Meum

Summary:

Her first day at the Association's Medical Center passes her by like a whirlwind.

So too, does the amicable Guide Han Yoojin and the fierce Esper Han Yoohyun.

As a total outsider, the world unfolds before her eyes, beckoning her to watch.

Notes:

Hello, hello again! As you can see, I'm back on my AU nonsense yet again because of course I am.

That said, the theme of this exchange is quite the new thing for me and so this fic turned out to be a bit special for me in a meta/author sense. See, it is my first attempt at several things: major OC development, outsider POV, epistolary elements, more meta elements (articles/fandom), and more AU worldbuilding elements. It was quite the fun, technical exercise!

The title "Expōne Cor Meum" is Latin and roughly translates to "Explain/Expose My Heart". The vibe is more analytical, as if one is publishing or explaining a theorem.

This work is set in the same world as Ecce Cor Meum and Redde Cor Meum, and I will add this work to Aperi Cor Meum soon.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Blue, cloudless skies.

Lush, vibrant landscapes.

The flight is not yet over, yet Ofelia Choi is already excited about the place she will soon call home. She pulls her paper ticket from her pocket and glances over the printed information.

Diaylen Airways

Passenger: Ofelia Choi         Seat: 7C

From: Diaylen City                To: Seoul

Flight: DY 894                      Terminal/Gate: J30

Date: August 30, 20XX         Boarding At: 11:30 PM

Depart: 12:13 AM                 Arrive: 7:42 AM

A warm weight stirs against her right shoulder and she looks over to find her girlfriend, Jung Seoyoon stirring awake. She rubs her eyes, glances at her phone to confirm the time, and then turns to Ofelia with a small smile. It reminds her of the day they first met— back in grad school at the Capital. They shared the same introductory class and have been attached at the hip ever since. As an international student from South Korea, Seoyoon was fully intent on returning back to her home country once she graduated, but after they got together, things were in the air. Fortunately, a job opening for a researcher specializing in corruption energy analysis had opened up at the right time and the decision was made for them both.

Their plane lands in short order and with exhaustion weighing heavily, they quickly make their way to the hotel and crash. When they wake up in the evening for a quick bite, Ofelia checks over her emails and smiles.

Hey Ofelia,

Pardon me for dropping the formalities, but I'm super excited to finally meet you! Thanks again for joining our team— with how dangerous the world is becoming, we can never have enough people or grant money! Anyways, you can find directions to the government center attached, and I'll see you tomorrow!

Regards,

Seok Hayan

The first day passes Ofelia by like a whirlwind with her new boss at its core.

Right from the moment first she arrives at the facility and gives her name to the receptionist, chaos swirls about her. Teams of espers rush in and out of the lobby while various other employees in suits and dresses— probably the Association, greet guests and escort them to the fancy looking elevator on the other end of the lobby.

It does not take long for Team Leader Seok to enter the lobby with flair, locate Ofelia, and rush over to her with an excited smile that tells Ofelia that she's about to be pulled into something rather interesting, right off the bat. She is proved right when, instead of being escorted to her new office or the lab, she's taken to one of the floors used by the guides working at the center to heal espers of corruptive energy.

"You're familiar with corruption flux charts, yes? Tell me what you think of this."

Team Leader Seok— Hayan, as her boss insists she address her, drops a folder into her hands. Ofelia opens it and her eyes read the axes and follow the erratic spikes of the red curve, indicating the flow rate of energy between the esper and the guide.

"A massive amount of energy was transferred and purified over such a short time frame. With these levels, the esper and guide must be high ranked. The esper's corruption levels must've been fairly high and the match percentage as well… but aside from that, nothing else seems out of the ordinary with this chart?"

"You would think so too, right? The chart itself appears normal, but take a look at this."

Hayan directs Ofelia to a profile sheet further within.

"No way, that's impossible…"

No matter how many times Ofelia blinks, the words on the page remain the same.

Energy Flux Assessment Results

Test ID: 186245XXX

Date of Assessment: August 31, 20XX

Time of Assessment: 10:53 AM

Assessment Duration: 27 minutes 54 seconds

Match Compatibility: 22%

Esper Information:

Full Name: Park Jiho

Grade/Classification: B+

Initial Corruption Level: 53.7%

Final Corruption Level: 48.2%

Guide Information:

Full Name: Han Yoojin

Grade/Classification: D0

Purification Efficiency: 70%

Additional Notes: Inconclusive results. Flux output incongruent with inputted parameters. Please verify input parameters and condition of test subjects.

The chart appears normal, but it does not match the pair listed on this page— more specifically, the guide's information. The values point to a major energy transfer, but a reduction of just 5.5% over 28 minutes seems way too small. It is not a poor performance, by any means, but it seems average at first glance.

And yet… the guide is only D0 grade? And they were tested alongside a B+ grade esper? And despite the low match compatibility, they were able to do that much?

"Is that guide really D0 grade? They have to be at least C+ grade if not higher, right?"

"So you think so too, then."

"What do you—"

"You should go talk to him."

"Who?"

"The D0 grade test subject, Han Yoojin. Something about the energy flow patterns is unusual, but no one really cares because the guide is D0 grade and the magnitude of impact is fairly minimal. It's so short-sighted to overlook any oddities when it comes up espers, guides, corruption, and those Doors."

Ofelia looks outside and shudders as she imagines one of those ominous, otherworldly Doors opening right then above their heads.

"Han Yoojin is a couple doors down from here. I think you'll like him."

"So you're the new researcher Seok Hayan-ssi's been talking about."

A young man—likely in his lower twenties, only a few years younger than her—stands up just as Ofelia enters the suite. He wears a sheepish smile and straight, pure black hair frames his face. He bows in greeting with Ofelia soon following suit.

"I hope Team Leader Seok has not said anything too strange about me!"

The man laughs and shakes his head.

"Hardly! She's been busy expanding her lab and was counting down the days before you arrived. She rambled about your research to anyone who'd listen to her!"

"Oh wow, that's something…" she looks away, somewhat self-conscious.

"Oh, pardon me. I didn't introduce myself— I'm Han Yoojin. It is nice to meet you."

"I'm Ofelia Choi, new member of Team Leader Seok's research group."

She looks this Han Yoojin over and nothing really stands out to her.

Of course, that is not a bad thing, by any means.

Han Yoojin seems well-mannered and even-tempered, and the sort to work hard. No one can beat the S+ grade guide, Princess Elena le Diaylen when it comes to beauty, but for a D0 grade, Han Yoojin is surprisingly easy on the eyes— like a 'boy next door' vibe.

But there is nothing that suggests that he is anything other than D0 grade.

Nothing beyond those abnormal test results, at least.

"Do you undergo tests often?"

"I do. Seok Hayan-ssi is convinced that something is strange, but no matter how many times she tests my status, it always comes out as D0-grade guide. I don't know why she's so fixated on a D0-grade like myself, but I'm not a researcher. I suppose I'll be seeing you around, then?"

Ofelia nods and shakes his hand before leaving for the day.

"Researcher Choi, I didn't expect to run into you here!"

Ofelia sets the tomato in her hand down and turns to face the familiar voice and face. She waves at Han Yoojin and heads over to where he stands by the leafy greens.

"You live nearby, Han Yoojin-ssi?"

"Not super close, but this store is on my commute home, so it's rather convenient."

"Ah, that makes sense."

"Umm… so Seok Hayan-ssi told me that you were from the Nation of Diaylen. I hope that it wasn't too difficult to adjust to life here in Korea…"

"I'm still getting used to things, but it's much easier now that I've been here for a few weeks. My partner and her family have been helping me out a lot."

"Oh, you live with your partner, then?"

Ofelia nods in response before inquiring back.

"What about you, Han Yoojin-ssi? Do you live by yourself or…?"

"Oh no. I have a younger brother in high school. But it is just the two of us."

Ofelia can guess what happened to their parents, given this dangerous world.

As the two of them wander around the supermarket shopping together, Han Yoojin rambles on about this younger brother— Yoohyun is his name and she'll remember that, given how many times Guide Han Yoojin mentions it. This brother of his is quite the smart kid; it's clear that he's very proud of him and works hard to support him.

Ofelia also notes the traces of exhaustion on his face. The lower grade guides don't have it easy, with espers and Association staff making the most outrageous demands of them. It's no wonder that Yoojin is happy to spend time undergoing whatever new test her boss comes up with.

But it seems like Han Yoojin is content, so that's good.

It is another day in the labs, with Ofelia staring at a lab computer as the power analyzer processes this curious strange artifact found just last week. Supposedly, it originated from the White Door that opened not too far outside the bounds of Seoul proper. Her eyes follow the peaks and troughs of the graph forming on-screen when her phone's loud ringtone jolts her from her reverie. It is the team leader.

"Team Leader Se— I mean, Hayan? What's go—"

"Come down to the basement, Ofelia! Quickly!"

She wastes no time putting the analyzer on standby and rushing out the door. She pictures the building map in her head and heads towards the closest stairwell. Despite being there for a few months now, she still gets lost every so often.

But the basement… she's never been there before and if she remembers correctly, there's a very large testing room with capabilities far surpassing those of the research labs. It makes sense, since the space is meant for testing and assessing newly Awakened superpower users, but Ofelia wonders why she is called.

It soon becomes apparent when her boss spots her and pulls her to the test screen.

Awakening Assessment Results

Test ID: 574XX

Date of Assessment: February 12, 20XX

Time of Assessment: 11:43 AM

Assessment Duration: 12 minutes 29 seconds

Candidate Information:

Full Name: Han Yoohyun

Predicted User Class: Esper

Predicted User Grade: S+

S+ grade? That's insane!

And isn't this Guide Han Yoojin's brother?

The number of S grade espers is in the single digits globally! Hell, the only one that Ofelia has ever known about is the S+ grade esper Tae Hajin, back in Diaylen City!

Everyone on the floor is stunned and in disbelief, including the Han Brothers, but every repeat test yields the same result.

"Hey, you're going to burn a hole through your laptop at this rate!"

Seoyoon places a mug of coffee beside her laptop and sits down across from her at the table. Her girlfriend rests her face on her hands and regards Ofelia with concern.

"You've been staring at that same page for a while now, you know?"

Of course she is! She cannot believe the audacity of these news sites and tabloids! She frowns as her eyes skim over the words on the page once again.

Drama explodes between feuding superpowered brothers!

Thousands of netizens are abuzz about the newly Awakened S+ grade esper, Han Yoohyun, and the newly established Guild Haeyeon! Many rumors about the eighteen-year-old esper swirl about but one thing is for certain— his brother, the D0 grade guide Han Yoojin has not been spotted anywhere nearby!

Former neighbors and other sources tell the station that the Han Brothers have always been super close— strangely close even, especially after the deaths of their parents ten years ago, when a White Door opened in their neighborhood.

Guild Haeyeon alleges that no such dispute or feud is ongoing, but is that really the truth? After all, what could separate two otherwise close brothers, if not the younger's Awakening and their disparate grades? With the younger brother at an S+ grade and the older brother at D0 grade, this differential likely played a role in splitting the pair apart. Does the younger think he is better? Is the older bitter about this change? Netizens theorize openly—

Ofelia doesn't know too much about Han Yoohyun, but after getting to know Han Yoojin over the past several months, she knows that he's not like that.

The separation between them, though, is unfortunately true.

She hopes that it isn't too severe between them.

It does not take long for curiosity to get the better of her.

As Ofelia waits for her simulation to finish running, she decides to look more into Esper Han Yoohyun. Sure, this is her work laptop, but looking up information about prominent superpower users in the country, especially one as highly ranked and new to the scene as that guy, is hardly unusual given her line of research.

That, and something is very wrong at the moment.

On one hand, Guide Han Yoojin has done nothing but sing all sorts of praises about how smart and wonderful his younger brother is— and the few times Ofelia has seen him firsthand (before he Awakened, at least), he seemed to match the description. She remembers him having this intense aura (unsurprising in retrospect) and just… disregarding the outside world, almost. Sure, he was responsive and polite when addressed, even if blunt, but it was clear to anyone with functioning eyes that his older brother was his entire world.

On the other hand, she cannot disregard everything that has transpired since Esper Han Yoohyun has Awakened. Ofelia wants to believe that people don't change so drastically upon Awakening— like sure, they gain new powers, new jobs, a new social status, and a new lifestyle but in the end… that person's core essence should stay the same, right?

Especially when it is someone as singularly focused as Esper Han Yoohyun.

And yet, as much as the guide tries to hide it behind gentle smiles and friendly greetings, strain and a general lack of enthusiasm marks every feature and every movement. She's even noticed the strange, long-distance stares and the occasional melancholy that overcomes him whenever he thinks no one is paying attention.

It makes Ofelia wonder just what Esper Han Yoohyun is thinking.

Ofelia is not sure how she ended up in this particular hellhole.

Because one minute, she's reading Esper Han Yoohyun's new profile page in the Association's directory and the next minute, she discovers that her guide friend's younger brother already commands quite the terrifying presence!

But it's not unexpected.

Superpower users have an elevated social status, since they're the only ones who can go up against the Doors and the otherworldly beasts they unleash into the world.

Or at least, that's what the Association tells the world.

In truth, the low-ranked users— especially guides like Han Yoojin, are used like tools by the government and espers alike. Every so often, a pang of guilt reverberates through her at the thought of being a cog in this system until she remembers that there's little choice otherwise. Not unless they want their world to be devoured, at least. If anything, her research into corruption energy signatures has the potential to better the situation, so she keeps working at it.

But the world of high ranking espers and guides is so very different.

They are untouchable celebrities who can do as they please, so long as they fulfill their duties to society. They also have this mystic allure and striking beauty that shines through once they Awaken— and now, Ofelia has seen that shift in the younger Han brother. Pure, primal power shines through his now crimson eyes.

Whether it's the regal, graceful atmosphere surrounding the S-grade guide Princess Elena le Diaylen; the mature, imposing feeling that the S+ grade Esper Tae Hajin gives off; or now, the fierce, intense vibe that the new S+ grade Esper Han Yoohyun presents, it is far too easy to fall under the influence of S-grade superpower users.

Which is how Ofelia Choi finds herself digging deeper.

After noting those subtle yet also major changes in Esper Han Yoohyun's appearance and aura before and after Awakening— all in the few pictures that the Association's directory hosts, something compels Ofelia to find more pictures of the new esper.

First, it is images from news articles and flashy tabloids— and they are numerous.

Esper Han Yoohyun's Brother Nowhere To Be Seen

Ofelia winces at the final headline. How ridiculous.

Right then, a new email pops into her inbox.

Ofelia sighs when she notes the sender.

From: Seok Simyoung <[email protected]>

On one hand, getting these emails from her boss' uncle on the regular is reassuring. The only reason he'd even bother is if his boss, Esper Han Yoohyun, directs him to do so. Just knowing that the esper cares enough to keep tabs on his brother is reassuring, but why use such indirect methods?

On the other hand— when the hell did she become the point of contact???

Sure, she's friendly with Guide Han Yoojin, Hayan, and her uncle whenever he shows up, but why is she suddenly the responsible one? Though it's true that she worries about Guide Han Yoojin's isolation and keeps an eye on him anyways…

Hello Ms. Choi,

I hope your research is proceeding smoothly. Hayan has nothing but good things to say about you. I also hope that the Leader's hyung is doing well.

Regards,

Seok Simyoung

Her boss' uncle sure has an odd way of wording things. She can practically hear his unusually smooth voice in her head, demanding she report every detail she knows about Han Yoojin.

She sighs again and begins typing. What a mess.

Ofelia gets her answer when Hayan returns to the lab quite visibly angry.

"Can you believe those Association bastards? You'd think that applying for a research grant would be a straightforward process, right? Write up a proposal, explain the theory, show some preliminary results and suggest endgame uses. Then send that in and the best project should win, right? But nooooooooo…"

Ofelia knows that pain way too well. The world of academia is quite the political one.

"They're even worse than the stubborn academics! They know nothing yet parade around like they know everything because 'balance of power' and 'influence'. Argh!"

While Hayan certainly gets passionate about her work, her frustration here is not unreasonable. As their research group worked on this proposal and pushed it through the Association, Ofelia got a glimpse of the treacherous political web present there. Because of course, bureaucracy and politics kills everything.

And that's when the obvious occurs to her.

That is why Esper Han Yoohyun uses indirect methods like this.

The media circus surrounding the younger Han brother is no joke… but it's also true that after several months with no direct contact with his older brother, the media has started to leave Guide Han Yoojin alone. Sure, every so often, she spots a media vehicle trying to take a snap of the guide but with the days at work passing with no significant change, it's likely that they think Yoohyun left him behind.

And that upsets her a lot. Because she knows for a fact that this is wrong.

The very way she got roped into these weekly reports itself is evidence.

She tries telling Yoojin that his brother cares, but while he smiles and acknowledges her in response, it's clear he doesn't believe her and Ofelia is left at a loss.

"Wow, you look like you're done with everything."

"Because I am, Seoyoon-ah. Why is this my life?"

Ofelia is more than happy to spend the entire day lazing on the couch, staring aimlessly at the ceiling, but alas. She has to be responsible and get ready for the group's next proposal presentation at the Association's headquarters that night.

As she sighs for the umpteenth time and sits herself upright, her girlfriend places a mug of tea on the table before her and presses a kiss to her hair. Really, Ofelia is certain that she wouldn't have survived this far were it not for her Seoyoon-ie.

As she dresses herself and applies the final touches, she scrolls through her phone, casually reading various headlines— more Association politics, guild movements, high-level esper and guide movements, scandals, and more. Soon, a strange comment-reply duo left beneath one of the articles catches her eye.

There's no way Esper Han Yoohyun is involved with any of those guides! Haven't you seen the news of him cutting off all his contacts with the Association's guides? Does that look like he cares about any of them?

Ofelia doesn't know what's going on here, but she already knows that the answer is no. Back then and even to this day, it's pretty clear that his brother is the only thing he really shows any interest in… even if it's more hidden and less obvious now.

Shut up already, you delusional shipper!

Say what now? She doesn't quite know what the response is referring to, but as a person with a rather… err… nerdy background, she knows what that word means.

And she curses her brain and her insatiable curiosity.

Because she knows that once she returns from the meeting, she's going to look that up and regret everything.

Can confirm. She regrets everything.

Put simply, there is a massive superpower user fandom out there— and these aren't just your average, everyday fans who have favorite espers and guides they idolize in the way they do with other celebrities. Posters, merch, cheerleading, and so on.

Oh no, that's just a fraction of the fandom. The mere surface.

Ofelia made the mistake of opening the door to hell, and hell it was.

Because of course shipping wars and shipping discourse spreads this far.

She would ask why these people can't do anything better with their lives, except she'd be the biggest hypocrite ever, given her fannish past and her bizarre curiosity dragging her around the space.

There are a lot of names she recognizes— Esper Moon Hyuna (her girlfriend's favorite, not so surprisingly), Guide Song Taewon, Esper Sung Hyunjae, Guide Kang Soyoung, and of course, Esper Han Yoohyun and the various members of Haeyeon.

She isn't all that surprised when she sees all sorts of discussion boards and fictional works about every possible permutation and combination out there. That's how this sort of thing works, after all. However when, against her better judgment, she looks at the boards specific to the younger Han brother, her jaw drops.

Why? Because somehow these ship fans see something that the tabloids don't.

See, the fans have collectively agreed that despite what the mainstream media says, Esper Han Yoohyun doesn't actually dislike his brother— far from it, actually. But of course, because fandom can't go a day without drama, they find a way to argue over what he feels… and a shocking number of them, in fact, ship the brothers romantically.

Again, she really should have seen this coming.

And in the weirdest way, given what she knows now, it kind of makes sense.

Although Ofelia is wise enough to stay away from those boards, lest she end up running into something that would have her running away from Guide Han Yoojin in shame, the question of what his brother's intentions are lingers in her thoughts.

Sure, for normal people, such a possibility would be scandalous and unreasonable.

But this is an S+ grade user and those types live by a whole different set of rules than the rest of society does, so it's really not all that weird for Esper Han Yoohyun to feel that way. It's still weird for her to wrap her head around it, but it makes some sense.

Not that it matters. That's just a strange corner of the internet.

Ofelia looks over the list of guides scheduled for a routine checkup today, and rather coincidentally, Guide Han Yoojin is next in line.

Minutes later, the man is knocking on her door and taking a seat.

"You know the drill— any fevers, aches, nausea, dizziness, Han Yoojin-ssi?"

"Nope, I'm doing just fine today, Researcher Choi."

Ofelia looks up from her clipboard at the unusually peppy voice… and the closer she looks at Yoojin, she notes brighter skin, faded dark spots, and a shine in his eye.

"You look like you're in top condition today!"

"Yeah, it's weird. It feels like I have more energy than usual."

Curious. That's not a common thing to hear from an overworked guide.

It is strange enough for Ofelia to ask the guide to do quick and easy energy scan.

He easily complies, but her eyes grow wide as she looks over the results. She asks him to repeat the test, but when the energy signature remains unusually high, she's knows something major is amiss and calls her boss over to discuss the results.

"I knew it! I freaking knew that something was going on here!"

Ofelia looks up from the benchtop and notes her starry-eyed boss clutching papers to her chest and twirling about. It's such an odd sight that she cannot help but laugh.

"Ofelia! Come over and look at these results! I knew it would pay off someday!"

Ofelia remembers the commotion about the Door along the coast, but as it turns out, Guide Han Yoojin was there entirely by coincidence and jumped into the fray.

"And he was helping A-grade espers with the results of an A-grade guide!"

What on… how is that even possible?

Of course, Reawakening is a known phenomenon… but even if that's the case, superpower users only go up by one grade! So Guide Han Yoojin would have, at most, gone up to a C+ grade status if that had happened!

But those results… it would be impossible for a C+ grade guide to do that.

"And as it turns out—"

"That's… something. Wow."

"Oh, if my theory is right, it'll get even better."

Just as Team Leader Seok Hayan told her two weeks ago, it does get better.

Or at least crazier, because this is even more insane than what happened last year.

Ofelia finds herself in the basement testing facility once more, facilitating a Reawakening assessment. In truth, only Guide Han Yoojin's presence is necessary, but Esper Han Yoohyun had suddenly shown up on the premises, demanding to see his older brother and participate in his Reawakening assessment.

No one in their right mind was going to get in Esper Han Yoohyun's way, so the test now proceeds with the two of them. They stand several meters apart and their hands rest on glowing orbs. The energy flow is so potent that even a non-user like Ofelia feels shivers running through her. She can't begin to imagine what living with that sort of energy must feel like, despite everything she's researched and learned.

This is not the first time the test is being run today, but no one can believe the results— least of all, the Han duo, so it is being run for the final time as confirmation.

Everything Ofelia knows about Awakening and Reawakening tells her that this should be impossible... but somehow, the impossible has become possible.

Soon, Esper Han Yoohyun grabs his brother's hand and leads him out of the room. Guide Han Yoojin turns back to her and waves before exiting the building with renewed vigor.

Did her boss foresee this outcome, perchance?

As it turns out, those strange corners of the internet get it right every once in a while.

Because now, everything is as clear as day.

To Ofelia, at least.

Though she supposes that her circumstances are unique.

Maybe that's why she quickly clues onto Esper Han Yoohyun and his every move.

He might as well scream into a megaphone at the going rate, with how handsy he is with his paired guide of a brother. When she flips through her phone and notes the picture of the esper so shamelessly kissing his brother in public right on the front page, Ofelia can only laugh at the sheer audacity.

Yet despite the growing number of people cluing into the situation, there remain those few contrarians and holdouts who insist that somehow it's totally normal for two brothers to engage that way without feeling a certain way. Like sure, they are an esper-guide duo… but wouldn't it still be weird without that factor?

It's seriously dumb and she's read enough stupidity for the day.

Although Guide Han Yoojin is now officially part of Guild Haeyeon, he still goes out of his way to swing by the center to visit her, Hayan, and the rest of their research team. They catch up on all the latest updates— research, raids, events, Doors, and so on.

He conveniently limits any mention of his brother to a brief update and Ofelia just sighs. With each passing day, the guide becomes even worse at hiding his feelings. She wonders when this ridiculous song and dance will finally come to an end.

Much to her relief, it eventually does.

Two years later. In the most dramatic way possible.

Ofelia wishes she were surprised by that… but she isn't.

It perfectly fits this place she now calls home.

Notes:

This time around, I went a bit further than just the fusion to add a few little Easter eggs from Open the Door, hence the addition of that fandom tag here. It lent a cool vibe to this world and I had quite a bit of fun writing this piece. Also, I think this might actually be the most meta, most unhinged thing I've written to date- and mind you, I've written a lot of very unhinged things so that's saying something! Now, the only question is when I'll add the next thing to this world~

...and also, while I only intended for my outsiders to exist in this fic/AU only, I have a vague feeling that Ofelia Choi and Jung Seoyoon are going to grow as OCs and follow me beyond this space. Just a suspicion with no known plans yet, but I just sense them somehow, which is also something quite new for me. We'll see in the end XD

-

The novel 'Open The Door' involves Doors (dungeons) and a modern society with an elite class of fighters. It also includes an esper/guide system and the story takes place in a sort of... AU form of modern South Korea. This novel is officially BL and 18+ at that, so that is a major difference from 'The S-Classes That I Raised.'

If you are interested, you can find the completed translated novel as a PDF over at Peach Tea Agency, along with a link to purchase the original Korean novel. In addition, Lezhin recently started publishing the official webtoon adaptation.

Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed this fic!
