“I just want to chill and do nothing for the rest of my life.”

Nagi Seishiro was a simple guy and like everyone, he just wanted an easy life. He doesn’t want to work hard, and he hates anything that’s a hassle; so a working, stable job was.. a difficult find, to say the least.

Nagi once worked as a cashier, but was fired on the spot for slacking off while he had a line of waiting customers. He had also worked as a barista at his local café, but decided to just never show up again after his first day.. Making drinks was too complicated— a hassle.

That’s when he discovered social media. How being a content creator could be a source of income, easy money in Nagi’s eyes— if it works out, of course. He had considered BlueTube, but editing long videos seemed like it was too much work. He looked into influencers as well, but everything sounded too fake and active for his liking; so he settled for being a streamer. It was the perfect job for him— he could sit at home and just play games all day. There was no need for editing or acting, he had complete freedom.

In only a month, nagishir0 had gained around 15k followers on switch.tv. He was compensated comfortably, around ¥600,000 monthly with no extra effort. All he needed to do was play some games— which he was going to do anyway— and he’ll earn money. He was good at gaming and people enjoyed watching that for some reason, but who was he to complain?

shiroarmy: no wonder

chokifan: i need choki 4k

seishirosgirl: I need Nagi 4k.

The stream ends after Nagi finishes the game, playing through it a few times to get all of the endings. He feels a bit tired, even though he had woken up only an hour before he started streaming. He grabs a bottle of water to take a sip, then pours a tiny bit into Choki’s pot.

“Now Choki is hydrated too.”

Nagi goes to shut his computer off when he gets a private message notification. It’s common, but he recognizes the username from earlier in the stream.

Now, Mikage Reo has absolutely no clue why he had offered all this to a streamer he had just found today. His father had mentioned in a work meeting about buying switch.tv, and Reo decided that he’d look into it himself. Reo scrolled through the site, looking at all the obnoxious streams and events on the page..

Somewhere during his research, he ended up in a sleepy horror game stream with the most atrocious facecam he’s ever seen. It’s not as if Nagi is ugly— Reo can’t even see the guy— but the quality contrast between the webcam and game screen was so awful that he just couldn’t bear it.

The interaction went well, Reo thinks— even though he totally came off as a creep. He hadn’t even noticed how it sounded, but Nagi didn’t seem to mind that much. He was a strange guy, interesting too, Reo wondered if he was as lazy as he seemed on screen. Reo will find out tomorrow.

Notes:

first bluelock fanfic!! (and honestly one of my first fanfics too) how are we feeling? this fic will be updated as soon as i finish each chapter. also english is not my very first language so if there are mistakes please correct me. feel free to offer suggestions of usernames for the users in nagi's chat, or any other thing you'd like to see. what kind of humor do you enjoy/think will fit in this fic? anyways, i love reonagi very much and i'm very excited about continuing this fic. i can talk sooo much about them, and have alot of things i want to write about them that probably won't be in this fic because its angsty. should i add angst to this fic? still deciding. i have a pretty solid idea of the plot for this one, but i don't mind adding some angst if that's something people will enjoy. sorry for the rambling, thank you for reading this chapter! more to come<3

Chapter 2: I Think I Like Him a Lot

Summary:

Nagi, eyes glancing toward the chat, blinked slowly. “He’s nice. I think I like him a lot.”

Chapter Text

The afternoon arrived a lot faster than Nagi was expecting— likely because he had been asleep for most of the day again. Luckily, and surprisingly, Nagi did remember to order the webcam that ‘purplechameleon’ had recommended to him. He shuffles out of bed with his slippers, walking over to his apartment door and creaking it open just enough to snatch the small box right inside.

He stares at it for a moment before yawning, “this is probably it.”

Nagi then remembers that he does indeed have a guest coming, debating whether to clean up or not. He settles for changing into more “formal” casual wear (a cleaner hoodie and sweats) then tidying up his desk a bit (only enough to make room to set up the webcam).

Choki was doing okay, still sitting by his window where the light shined on him perfectly. Nagi gives his cactus a good morning thumbs-up as he passes, setting the package down on his tidier desk.

When Reo arrives to the apartment complex, he double checks the PM from nagishir0 to make sure he has the right door. Once he found it, he rang the doorbell. There was no sound– must be a hassle to fix– so he knocks instead.

The door opened and Nagi looked exactly the same in person, well as exact as you can get compared to blurry pixels. He had messy white hair; oversized hoodie and the expression you’d expect from a monotone guy like him. Nagi’s expression falters for a moment though because this guy is beautiful. He’s tall– although shorter than Nagi, has this gorgeous purple hair that cuts off at his chin, he smells.. expensive– if that’s even possible, and has this heavenly light that’s shining from him (although Choki thinks this part might be Nagi’s imagination).

Nagi stares for a moment longer before nodding and stepping aside to let him in.

When Reo stepped inside Nagi’s apartment, he was hit with the overwhelming sense that the streamer really did live like someone who planned to put in the least amount of effort necessary in life. Empty cans of energy drinks lined the edge of the desk. There was an unmade bed, laundry piled on a chair, and instant ramen wrappers next to the trash.

But despite that, he didn’t find it gross. It was… lived-in. Reo actually found it kind of endearing– a bit like a cat that hoarded bottle caps.

“Uhm. I didn’t clean up too much, sorry.. purplechameleon.”

Reo laughs at that, it’s soft though. “Reo”

“Huh?”

“I’m Reo.”

Nagi nods, “I’m Nagi Seishiro”

“Gosh, I can’t believe you’ve been streaming with this. ” Reo held up Nagi’s laptop, meant for gaming but still overworked.

“It works.” Nagi replied, lying on his bed. He watches Reo sit over by his desk, “I have a PC but it’s too complicated to set up.”

Reo pauses and looks at Nagi, “You have a PC?”

“Yeah, but it’s in the box over in that corner.”

“Well, I guess PCs are more complicated to build. You should have gotten a prebuilt PC, you don’t need to set up too much.”

Nagi yawns, “I did, it’s just too much of a hassle to take it out and plug it in.”

Reo laughs, “Wow, you really are a hassleman, I’ll set that up for you too.”

Around an hour later, Reo had set up Nagi’s new webcam, PC, monitor and even a better mic just because.

“Come over here and say something into the mic. We can test the camera too.”

Nagi leaned over and said softly, “Hi.”

“Perfect.” Reo smiled. His voice came through the new mic crisp and warm—rich enough to make anyone watching on switch.tv feel like Nagi was whispering right in their ears.

They tested the lighting, camera angle, and layout, with Reo adjusting everything with the care of someone grooming a personal project– or polishing a treasure. Nagi remained cooperative, not exactly helpful.

“This is officially good enough to rival the top streamers on switch.tv.”

Nagi sat down, now in front of the new setup, staring at the screen. He reached to turn on the stream but hesitated.

Reo watched him, a bit confused. “Something wrong?”

“I guess it feels weird,” Nagi said slowly. “Feels like this is a lot… for me.”

Reo leaned on the desk beside him, meeting his eyes. “You’ve got the numbers, the skills, the effortless charm. You’re not just coasting anymore… you’re building something here.”

Nagi blinked, like he hadn’t thought about it that way.

Then he nodded once.

“…Okay.”

nagishir0

new setup

When the stream began, Nagi’s face was in 4K, his hair a bit messy but glowing under brand new lighting. The comments were immediate.

seishirosgirl: OH MY GOD HIS FACE???

kuromi_xo: omg he actually fixed it

mqkoud: wowowow new setup!

myseicred: I KNEW HE WAS FINE

localfuzzymonster: the upgrade is crazy???

lunykue: new viewer here.. such a cutie…

nagiwagi: WHOEVER SET THIS UP I OWE YOU MY LIFE

Nagi stretched on camera, looking exactly as unbothered as ever. “Hey,” he mumbled, “new camera.”

Reo, who was watching from his phone on the ride home, felt his lips curl up into a small smile.

It wasn’t until later in the stream, around 2.3k viewers in, that Nagi mentioned, “purplechameleon helped me set all this up today, so I guess he’s kind of like a sponsor.”

The chat exploded .

shiroarmy: THAT DONO FROM YESTERDAY??

mimikochanxxx: Omg how sweet

noticemenagi: HOW DOES IT FEEL TO LIVE MY DREAM???

mqkoud: we thank purplechameleon

blfan69: this is giving strangers-to-lovers yaoi..

gamergirl222: he had a viewer come to his house??? bro

mimikochanxxx: Don't forget the mic upgrate too!! His voice sounds so nice

m00nlight_99: comfort streamer.

chokifan01: did they get to see choki

Nagi, eyes glancing toward the chat, blinked slowly. “He’s nice. I think I like him a lot.”

Reo, back home with a cup of tea and his laptop open, nearly choked.

This might not have been what he expected when he first looked into switch.tv, but he wasn’t complaining at all.

"Oh. I forgot to introduce him to Choki.."

Chapter 3: Yet, huh?

Chapter Text

The Mikage family estate wasn’t a home really—it felt more like a hollow hall for extravagant novelty. Glass walls, a zen garden, and security gates that just screamed money. Reo stood by the window looking out into the garden, holding his phone. He was in a well-fitted, neatly buttoned suit; fresh from a photo shoot for ‘Tokyo’s Youth Entrepreneurs’. The photographer had just left.

After a few minutes of Reo staring at his phone, Mikage Corporation’s chauffeur and servant had entered.

“Reo-sama,” Ba-Ya called out, “You have the BLA gala at 6 today, and the keynote draft for the meeting still needs your approval.”

Reo nodded, he liked Ba-Ya but he was barely listening. His mind was elsewhere– partly on a message from Chigiri about dinner plans, but mostly on whether Nagi would be streaming today.

“I’ll handle the draft tonight,” Reo said. “Push the meeting with the firm to next week if you can.”

He ducked out into the privacy of the side garden and finally opened switch.tv.

Nagi was streaming.

nagishir0

runnng on 3 hr sleep :x

2.1k viewers — gaming

Reo cracked a smile.

He watched from his phone, earbuds in, as Nagi mumbled into the high-end mic Reo had installed. The contrast between Reo’s world– spotlights, money, fame–and Nagi’s sleepy, messy room came at him all at once.

Reo liked Nagi’s world better.

In his stream, Nagi was gaming as usual– hoodie scrunched up by his nape, hair tousled.

blinkg0ne: he looks tired.. so adorable

kuromi_xo: when i suggested a better camera i didn’t realize it would mean his bug eyes would be filling up the screen..

toastytea32: he’s soooo perfect<3

lunykue: the audios sounds better? is this a placebo

mimikochanxxx: did purplechameleon tweak something again?

Nagi blinks at the chat.

“No, he hasn’t come over again yet,” he muttered.

Reo freezes.

Yet, huh?

The BLA gala was flooded with press, sponsors, and Blue Lock representatives. Reo arrived in another crafted suit, a tailored midnight blue tuxedo. His presence was commanding and large in a way he never would lead around Nagi.

Cameras turned as he entered. People whispered his name like a brand.

Reo smiled at all of the comments, shook hands, laughed in all the right places; but his eyes kept flicking to his phone. He hadn’t missed a Nagi stream since the new setup arrived.

Reo excuses himself not even an hour into the gala, slipping away from the loud sea of tuxedos onto a quiet balcony overlooking the city. He pulls out his phone, smiling at the glow of nagishir0’s stream.

Nagi was curled up in his chair, camera now able to catch the smallest details in his face and expression– he’s sleepy. Nagi’s voice fills Reo’s ears and it’s just so comforting and.. different from the polished smalltalk in his life.

“The game is kind of boring, but the chat is pretty chill today..”

It was almost laughable how quickly Reo felt at ease. He smiled to himself, fingers hovering over the chat like he was considering typing something– he hasn’t really, not since the donations that first day.

It was a bit scary though, how some boy he had just met is taking over his mind like this. Maybe Reo loves too quickly, and too hard, and there's no way that's normal but..

Then someone called his name.

“Mikage-sama!”

Reo straightened, slipping the phone into his pocket before turning around. It was one of the gala organizers, followed by a few Blue Lock sponsors ready to talk business. And just like that, he was back to being Mikage Reo– heir, investor, the face for polished youth ambition.

Meanwhile back on stream..

“I might sleep, you guys can watch over Choki instead.”

The camera tilted slightly as Nagi adjusted it offscreen. The webcam was now pointed at his windowsill, where Choki the cactus was sitting.

chokifan01: OH MY GOD CHOKI CAM

shiroarmy: peak content

g00sebump$88: the real star of the stream

He flopped onto his bed– just barely offscreen– with a hoodie over his head, mumbling about the automatic saving of his game.

purplechameleon donated ¥300,000

Don’t sleep through dinner again– and I want to see Choki for real, this time.

Notes:

Chapter Text

Reo woke up to a flood of notifications about Nagi’s stream, new followers pouring in, and a dozen comments about the sudden boost in Nagi’s broadcast quality from both old fans to new ones.

He scrolled through the comments under Nagi’s latest clips. The chat had already started theorizing about who “purplechameleon” really was. Reo’s heart stuttered every time his name popped up, especially when it was a mention from Nagi. As he continued to stay updated on his treasure, he felt rushes of warmth that had nothing to do with pride.

He decides that he’ll message Nagi again, directly this time.

purplechameleon

Your streams are going great! You’re doing better than you think.

Reo smiles to himself as he’s standing in front of Nagi’s door, once again. He knocks a few times and Nagi’s voice calls at him, so Reo lets himself inside.

Nagi is sitting with his feet on the chair and knees against his chest, his head tilting over towards Reo’s direction.

“Reo…”

Nagi’s eyes watch him like he’s the only thing in the world, at least that’s how it feels. He doesn’t get up, doesn’t smile wide or greet him loudly– he just says Reo’s name again, barely above a whisper. And Reo feels it– he feels the way he’s needed in a very quiet way.

Reo crouches beside the desk, scanning the setup. “It just stopped working?” he asks, fingers already moving, checking connections.

Nagi nods, “I didn’t do anything.”

“I figured as much.” Reo smiles, he fumbles around with the wires for a bit.

“I think the battery inside probably burnt out. How long did you have the PC sitting around before I finally set it up for you?”

Nagi pauses to think for a bit, “Not sure.. maybe a year or two.”

“That’s probably why it’s not working, your battery is likely degraded.”

“Oh.”

“I’ll figure it out,” Reo says, before he steps over towards the door to grab a small bag he brought. He hands it over to Nagi.

“Here, I had Ba-ya make you a bento. There’s some snacks in there too, in case you want those.”

Nagi doesn’t know who Ba-ya is but he nods, he doesn’t know why Reo or Ba-ya would go through the trouble. He feels strange, strange that Reo is doing so much for him. Shouldn’t Nagi be the one feeding Reo? He’s Nagi’s guest, not the other way around but..

Nagi’s thoughts are interrupted when Reo gives him another smile, then quickly looks up a few articles on how to take out and replace a PC battery. They talk a little bit while Reo does his thing and after a few hours, everything is running again.

Nagi sits down in front of his setup, staring at the screen before starting the stream.

nagishir0

705 viewers – gaming / chatting

Nagi’s face appears on screen, lit up by the light. He’s chewing on something– a piece of katsu from Reo’s bento– while he greets his stream.

“Hi. PC battery broke but now it’s fixed..” He mumbles, “I got food too.”

“Nagi! Don’t speak with your mouth full!” A voice in the background scolds him softly.

“Sorry…”

nagiwagi: WHO WAS THAT??

myseicred: what…

myseicred: what??????

“He fixed it again.”

kuromi_xo: i love nagi lots but since when did he have friends..

shiroarmy: is it that chameleon dude from the other day?

mimikochanxxx: Omg purplechameleon again? They’ve been so supportive.

There’s a hand that comes into the screen, softly waving for the stream. Nagi’s head turns towards it and he just stares.

blfan69: are we interrupting smth..

gamerguy333: HELP??> IS THAT NOT A WOLEX WATCH…. This guy rich af

chokifan01: can we see choki?

“Yea sure.”

Nagi leans over towards his bed, reaching out towards Choki on the windowsill– not bothering to get up from his seat. After almost a minute of “struggling” to grab Choki, Nagi turns back to the screen.

“He says it’s too much of a hassle to get on.”

Reo snorts, giggling quietly.

Nagi pauses at the sound, staring again to admire Reo as the stream continues and the chat explodes.

The stream continues, Nagi playing a short game while muttering as usual. The voice– and hand– in the background is new, but it’s not jarring. Reo slips right into the atmosphere and feels so familiar, like he was always meant to be there. He doesn’t talk too much, just a few comments or sounds, and an occasional gesture, but the chat clings on to everything.

mqkoud: i can’t tell if they’re dating or if this is just nagi??

nagiwagi: they just met so i doubt it.

lunykue: loser gamer bf x mysterious guy kill me

shiroarmy: but nagi isn’t gay?

mimikochanxxx: Let’s not speculate!

fancykitty123: wait, so is purplechameleon just… there now???

Nagi, now chewing on a piece of candy, blinks at the chat.

“Yeah.”

Just yeah.

Notes:

i'm so so sorry for the late update:( my 아빠 was visiting so i've been really busy, and also just super stressed out because of him. everything has been not great for me lately but what can i do ..... i should have more frequent updates for this fic now! i think i also want to start another bluelock fic (rin/itoshi brothers centric), but i want to get more chapters of this out first to make up for lost time. thank you for being so patient!

ps. i don't know anything about computers, or batteries so literally all repairs and problems in this fic are made-up and probably not real.

Chapter 5: Treasure

Chapter Text

It became a habit, a routine.

Reo became a habit, a routine.

Nagi still streamed as usual, but oftentimes with Reo in the background. Reo would just.. drop by– no issue, no reason. It should be a hassle that a constant presence is disturbing his peace and his normal; but Nagi finds that he doesn’t mind at all.

“Look at your analytics!”

Reo is sitting on his bed– Nagi’s bed– as he excitedly holds his phone over towards the desk. There’s a bunch of numbers, charts and information on the screen.

Nagi never really paid attention to all of the details of that stuff, but if Reo thinks it’s important; he will.

“Hm?”

He turns his head from his setup– he wasn’t streaming, just casually playing games, and shifts his attention to Reo.

“You’re one of the top streamers on switch.tv right now!” Reo scrolls through his phone some more, “High views, but also high engagement that maintains your viewers.”

Nagi hears Reo giggle and he just stares.

“You really are a treasure, Nagi!”

Reo looked back at him with the same smile he always did, like he was so sure about Nagi.

Nagi’s expression was.. a bit inexpressive and half-lidded (as usual), but his brain was awake enough to realize his heart had done something weird . It felt like that “oh, that’s nice” feeling Reo always gave him, but more – heavier, warmer.

“.. isn’t it a hassle to pay attention to all that?” Nagi muttered, turning back towards his monitor. He feels as though he can’t look at Reo right now.

Reo lets out another soft laugh, “Man, I’d kill to see you work out the stock market! You should get into it soon; make some good investments, hm?”

Nagi lets out a whine, “Reoooo… don’t make me do all that, sounds so boring…”

“If your income keeps up with how it’s going now, I guess you don’t really need to.”

They sit in silence for a bit longer, each doing their own thing before Nagi speaks.

“Hey, Reo.”

“Yes?”

He turns his attention towards the bed, tilting his head.

“What does Reo do for work? Reo is always busy and Reo also has a lot of money, right?”

Reo puts down his phone for a moment, thinking.

Mikage Corporations was his father’s empire, Reo had always been expected to take it over– and he’s been working hard towards that. This year, Mikage Corp was planning to expand digitally. Advertising, editing, entertainment; his father’s business had looked into a couple of different popular sites to expand into and Reo just so happened to stumble upon this one, where his treasure lies.

“I’m in business. It’s boring to your standards, I’m sure.” Reo chuckles awkwardly, “Why, do I look like I have a lot of money?”

“Reo talks rich.”

“Huh?”

Nagi leans against his desk, “Reo talks like he has a lot of money, and he buys things for me. Reo also wears expensive stuff, chat says so.”

“How does chat even know what I wear?”

“They said Reo’s arm is expensive.”

Reo is caught off-guard for a moment and he stretches one of his arms out, “My arm?”

“I also think Reo looks expensive.. and smells expensive too.”

Nagi hauls himself off his gaming chair and sits on the edge of his bed, resting his body on Reo’s. He feels Reo stiffen for a moment as he hides his face into Reo’s neck. Reo feels his breathing.

“Very expensive.”

Reo recovers quite quickly, laughing while his hand moves to stroke Nagi’s hair.

This kind of closeness isn’t unusual for them, despite having only known each other for a bit over a month.

Nagi didn't move for a long while, his face still buried into Reo like he was the most comfortable pillow on Earth. His breathing was slow and Reo couldn’t tell if he was drifting off, or if he was just.. there.

“You’re so strange, my treasure.” Reo murmured, still stroking Nagi’s hair.

Nagi’s voice came muffled, “I like that.”

“Hm?”

“I like when you call me that, and when you pet me.”

Reo’s mouth tugged into a smile, “This is not petting , Nagi.”

“Okay.”

After a few minutes, Nagi finally shifted, turning his attention back to look at Reo. “What’s business like?”

“It’ll bore you.”

“Nothing about Reo bores me, Reo is not a hassle.” Nagi admits, and Reo feels like bursting.

So Reo explained– not the boring, everyday corporate life, but the big parts. The kind of deals that could change industries, the projects that made headlines, and how his father’s company was moving toward digital platforms like switch.tv. He talked about numbers and markets (which Nagi doesn’t really care about, but he’ll listen for Reo).

By the time Reo was finished, Nagi was looking at him with that unreadable, half-lidded stare.

“Boring?” Reo asked, a bit amused but also fond.

Nagi blinked, “Reo also talks like the expensive people in the dramas Choki and I watch sometimes.”

“Choki watches dramas?”

“Yeah,” Nagi said, completely deadpan. “With me. Sometimes.”

Reo gets a call then, it’s normal. Reo always has business. Nagi’s lucky though, that Reo was here this long– and that Reo always cancels plans for him.

“I really have to go this time, I have a photoshoot to prepare for tomorrow. And I need to set up and prepare for an event later this month.”

Nagi groans, “Reo should quit and stay here with me forever.”

Is Reo’s family really that important and famous? Nagi doesn’t know, he doesn’t understand money or celebrity talk.

A quick google search fixes that– Reo’s family is indeed that important and famous.

Huh.
