“Pure Vanilla Cookie!” Gingerbrave shouts, running towards PV as fast as he could. The sky and ground turned darker and darker. “What’s going on? Why is Earthbread crumbling?”
“No, it’s not crumbling, it’s being slowly covered by a black liquid.” PV says as he tries to blast the sludge with his staff but the beam ends up being consumed as well. The liquid seems to reach for them grabbing around like a tentacle.
“Is there anything we can do to stop it?” Gingerbrave asks as he tries to whack the substance but his candy cane gets stuck instead and gets consumed by the sludge. “Noo! My cane!”
“I’ve tried to contact the other ancients but they seem to be dealing with the same thing on their end with no success” PV said, grabbing Gingerbrave’s hand and pulling him away from the liquid.
They kept on running until they eventually reached the top of the hill and the sludge surrounded them completely.
“There must be something we can do! There is always a solution, we just have to figure it out!” Gingerbrave shouted, looking more and more frantic.
PV after thinking for a second he makes up his mind. His soul jam glows brighter, changing into his awakened form he raises his staff.
“Watch out!” Gingerbrave called out.
“But before PV could finish casting, he was suddenly struck in the back by the sludge and pulled underneath. He had no time to react before his light flicked out under the darkness.
Gingerbrave ran to try to help PV but ended up being dragged into the darkness with him. His sight slowly fades to black as he plugged further into the sludge.
The Heartslabyul dorm was once again busy in preparation for the upcoming unbirthday party. At the end of the day before curfew, Trey is baking the last of the pastries as the kitchen goes silent from the lack of other students.
‘That should be the last batch of cookies. I’m glad that we are still keeping up even with all the commotion around the group of first years breaking the chandelier.’ Trey thinks as he pulls the chocolate cookies out of the oven.
There is a notification on his phone from Cater. ‘Heyy Trey leave a treat for me ok? Make sure the flavor is spicy tho cuz I’m craving spicy rn thx’.
Trey sighs and puts his hand on his hat. ‘Well I don’t really have time to make anything else this late and Cater will be here soon anyway. I will just use magic to overwrite the flavor instead.’
He grabs his magic pen and picks up one of the freshly made chocolate cookies.
“Doodle Suit” He casts but something felt different this time. His magic instead of changing the attribute of taste, it changed… something else.
When the spell faded the cookie’s appearance changed and it started to wake up.
Dark Choco Cookie woke up to blinding light. ‘What happened? I thought I had crumbled?’.
He blinked and slowly opened his eyes to see.. a witch! He moved his limbs and found that he was in the witch’s palm.
‘Did I get brought back just to be eaten?’ His panic started to rise.
“Um.. hey, calm down. I’m not going to hurt you.” the witch said slowly, putting him down on the counter. DC was confused and wasn't sure whether to run or fight because he also noticed that he didn’t have a weapon.
He took a closer look at his surroundings and found that it didn’t look like the witch’s castle nor did the person in front of him look like a typical witch.
“My name is Trey, do you have a name?” Trey asked. After a moment of hesitation DC replied.
“My name is Dark Choco Cookie. What are you? A witch? You don’t seem like one” He asked, putting one foot back getting ready to turn and run if necessary.
“A witch? I guess you could call me one, though usually we use the term mage.” Trey answered. “How are you… alive? This isn’t what my signature spell usually does.”
“I’m not sure either, I thought I crumbled after getting consumed by a black liquid sludge.” DC said, thinking about the new info. ‘Mage? Is that different from witch? He doesn’t seem to want to hurt me for now so I suppose it’s better to try to get more information out of him.’
“Where am I?” He asked.
“You are currently in the Heartslabyul dorm at Night Raven Collage.” Trey replied. When DC was thinking about how to get back. The door to the kitchen opened. Trey turned to see who it was while DC panicked and looked for a place to hide.
Noticing his panic, Trey scooped DC up and let him hide under his hat that was on his head. He quickly scrambled underneath.
“Hey Trey! Did you see my message?” Cater asked, smiling, closing the door behind him.
“Sorry Cater, I just saw it a moment ago so I didn’t have time to prepare anything.” Trey said, putting the rest of the cookies into a jar.
“Aw, alright. I guess I can just get a treat tomorrow. Good night, Trey! You should head to bed too.” Cater replied. “Oh! You know I met the freshmen that broke the chandelier and stole a tart today when I was painting the roses. They also wanted to apologize without a replacement tart so I couldn’t let them through unfortunately.”
“Well that’s unfortunate, maybe I could offer them some help. Good night, Cater. I will be going in a moment.” He said as Cater left the room.
Dark Choco peeked out from under Trey’s hat. “Is the other wi-mage gone?”.
“Yes, let’s go talk in my room. I think that will be a bit safer if you do not want anyone else seeing you.” Trey said, looking around the room. After confirming that everything is in place. He turned off the light and headed to his room.
