Summary
This story is heavily inspired by the song "Willie Taylor" by the Longest Johns. The song describes a woman whose lover is torn from her arms before they can wed and the desperate actions she takes trying to find him again. I began to wonder how the Treasure Planet story might be different if Captain Amelia had been that woman, and how she might treat John Silver differently if she knew he was a pirate from her early days in the Royal Navy. We will see Amelia's past, catch up to Jim Hawkins's present, and hopefully the future for the two of them after changes from the story in the movie. This story WILL have a romance between Jim and Amelia, one change I'm making is that Jim turns 18 two weeks into the voyage to Treasure Planet. I will have verses of the song that inspired the story scattered throughout the chapters, I hope you all enjoy seeing how I took inspiration from one into the other.
