"Your journey across the kingdom has reached its final destination…the lair of the mighty dragon," Gloves said, in their best suspenseful voice. They continued to narrate as their three partners looked at them with anticipation. "Having defeated the kobold guards, you descend deeper and deeper into the caverns, until you can hear the low growling of your enemy—"
"I cast Fireball," Hachi said, a smile on his face.
"They haven't finished describing the dragon yet!" Rider exclaimed.
"Yeah, at least wait until you see it," Gloves said, laughing. They then continued their narration. "—and soon enough, you come into a huge cave, the ground covered with various treasures. And in the middle of it is an adult red dragon, its scales shiny and its gaze straight on you three."
A mischievous smile spread across Gloves' face as they began to speak for the dragon. "What business have you weaklings, coming into my lair?"
"We know what you've been doing!" Goggles exclaimed, its voice passionate as if it was in the room with the dragon. "Terrorizing the kingdom, burning villages, and stealing the treasure of the citizens! We're here to put you in your place!"
"Yeah, the citizens deserve the treasure more than your greedy ass," Rider said.
Gloves growled for the dragon before they said, "What did you just call me?"
"Did I stutter?" Rider said.
Gloves giggled, and, in their normal voice, they said, "Bold move, Rydereus. You've angered the dragon. Roll initiative."
Before anyone could even move, Hachi rolled his dice and immediately threw up his arms in triumph. "Nat 20!"
"Nice!!" Goggles said, before rolling its own dice. A small frown then appeared on its face. "9…"
"I got a 15," Rider said.
"Alright, you're first," Gloves said, gesturing to Hachi. "What would you like to do?"
"Fireball," Hachi said immediately.
"You do know red dragons are immune to fire, right?" Rider said.
"…Damn it," Hachi said. "Well…then I cast Ice Knife at 5th level."
After some dice rolls, the dragon took its ice damage, and then it was the dragon's turn. Gloves made it breathe fire, and an evil smile appeared on their face as they rolled a bunch of damage dice. But luckily, none of the three members of the party were downed—yet.
The battle against the mighty red dragon carried throughout the night, the four members of the polycule rolling dice and yelling and laughing. This was their version of a date night—nothing fancy, nothing even that romantic, just the four of them having fun.
After a couple hours, the dragon was defeated, and everyone talked about the battle excitedly as they put away the game board and cleaned up their snacks. It was dark out, and everyone was tired, so they decided it was bedtime.
"Where did Rider and Hachi go?" Gloves said. "They were literally just here…"
"Probably to the bedroom," Goggles said. "C'mon, you must be exhausted after DMing such an amazing battle."
"You're right, I am," Gloves said, right before letting out a yawn. "The others must be waiting."
And so Gloves and Goggles walked towards their shared bedroom with the big bed the polycule shared. Indeed, when they opened the door, Rider and Hachi were there.
On the bed, Hachi on top of Rider, their lips pressed together in a deep kiss.
Gloves couldn't help but to burst into laughter. "Gayasses!" they called out teasingly.
"You're one to talk!" Rider exclaimed, a blush covering his face as Hachi laughed and threw a pillow in Gloves' general direction.
The pillow hit Gloves in the face—luckily not hard at all. "Hey!!" they exclaimed. "Hachi, you traitor!!"
"Oh no, whatever shall we do~?" Hachi teased, before Gloves grabbed the pillow and tossed it towards him. It did not hit him in the face.
"You missed, dear," Hachi said, as Gloves and Goggles joined him and Rider on the bed.
"Oh yeah? Well I won't miss with this!" Gloves exclaimed, right before giving Hachi a kiss on the lips. Hachi leaned into the kiss, his eyes closing as next to him, Goggles lay its head on Rider's chest.
"Tonight was a good night, huh?" Rider said, gently taking Goggles' tentacles out of the hair tie and messing with them.
"Definitely," Goggles said, grinning. "You were really strong against that dragon, Riri."
"We wouldn't have survived without your healing, Gogs." Rider pressed a soft kiss on Goggles' head, and it giggled and took Rider's hand in his.
And now that Gloves and Hachi were done kissing, they cuddled next to Goggles and Rider as well. Hachi pulled the bedsheets over all four of them, and with that, they all fell asleep after a wonderful date night.
