"Fuck off." The Assassin spits, shaking as icy water starts to reach their waist.
"Trust me, I'm not to pleased with this outcome myself." He resists the urge to roll his eyes, though a small part of his brain begins to worry over the water, than the much more pressing concern that he is trapped in a small room with a bitter enemy, and neither of them have a way out.
"Then why would you touch the fucking Piece of Eden?" There is something there, under the vitriol. He's unsure as to what it is - fear, perhaps, though that doesn't make much sense. The walls should hold even yet, they just have to practice patience until his Templar bretheren can pull him out of this - and capture the Assassin. That could grant them some goodwill, and if they treat the shaking person well they may even gain a turncoat with some interesting knowledge.
"Shit." His thoughts are forced from his mind as the arctic water reaches his own waist, and the Assassin laughs bitterly. "This is unpleasant."
"Understatement of the century." The assassin snipes, rubbing their arms as they pace the small room. "We need to get out of here, I'm not dying here."
"If you fear drowning, we won't." His mouth runs before his brain can catch up to himself, and the Assassin spins around, hope in their eyes. "We'll die of hypothermia within 15 minutes if it reaches out chest."
"Charming." The Assassin rolls their eyes, trying to open the other door once more. "Have you got any other fun facts, or are you just waiting for us to die?"
"We will be rescued, I was expected to return to the camp an hour ago. I'm certain they have sent out a party to search for us by now."
"The camp of three people, all of whom were outside the temple?"
"How did you know?" He asks, though his stomach begins to sink.
"They're dead." The Assassin doesn't look at him, groping around in the water blindly for - something. Honestly, he isn't sure what the Assassin thinks they'll find under the muddy water. This room was nothing but spare parts and rubble when he checked. "They were in my way. I needed to stop you."
"And a wonderful job you did of that." His words escape him bitterly, and the Assassin jolts upwards, surprise on their face. "You could have tried a little harder. Or left my allies alive to rescue us now that we've been trapped in here."
"Oh you fuckwit, you can't genuinely- You know what. Stay over there. When I get us out of here, I'm going to take the Apple and leave you to rot."
Privately, he can't wait for the Assassin to do just that. He must admit, it will be nice not to die alone. At least its better than being stabbed in the back.
