He should have killed both his children and Teena. William Mulder understood that far too late.
Samantha suffered. He knew that. Deep down she had suffered and deep down he knew she was dead. He'd wanted her to survive when the world went to shit. It'd been kinder to put a bullet in her head.
Fox had suffered every day since Samantha went missing. He had kept Fox with him and Teena to stop the syndicate, the aliens, to save humanity. William should have shot him before Samantha. His boy would never know peace. Any happiness he managed to snatch would be taken and tainted.
Teena, something had died in Teena would Samantha was taken. Her love for him being one of them. William should have looked in the eyes and said “This is the right thing, the only way to save our children from pain,” and then shot her too.
