Chapter Text

The omega has no idea how long he's been there, perhaps a month or even more than that; it's been a while since Izuku stopped counting the days. He has a muzzle on his face because he's been labeled as a troublesome omega by his captors; he knows most of the people there are afraid of the ones who keep an eye on the cells, but every time Izuku watches as a guard mistreats an omega he has to do something.

That's why he's in isolation now.

The people in that facility sell omegas to very rich an powerful alphas all around the world; Izuku was abducted and brought there right after his mother died. He hasn't had the time to mourn her properly.

It hasn't been easy, but he knows it's worse for the others; the people in charge said Izuku was taken by his beauty and mesmerizing scent (even though he's sure he's not a prime omega), they were very excited when he first got there, but that sentiment turned into disappointment very quickly when they realized Izuku was quirkless.

It's been like that most of the omega's life; he's tried to date alphas, find connection with someone who shares the same excitement as him when it comes to form a family and have pups. But the moment the alphas realize he was born without a quirk, they tell him directly that they don't want to risk it and have children that could end up like him.

However, they usually offer to have a casual relationship with him, but Izuku always turns them down.

A couple of years ago, he got used to the idea that no alpha or beta would want him, so he considered the possibility of dating omegas and finding someone who could be a parent with; they could find a donor and Izuku would be gladly to carry the pup.

However, even the omegas don't want to have quirkless kids; they are on board with the plan, as long as none of the children have Izuku's genes.

That was the third time his heart got shattered, however, he's never given up. He decided to have a child on his own. It doesn't matter how his pup turns, he just wants them to be healthy and give them as much love as his mother gave him when he was young.

Izuku sighs, looking around his room that's actually a prison. Now he won't have that possibility either because his captors want to sell him anyway, but as a companion, not as someone who would ever get married or have pups. Tied to an alpha who only wants sex from him.

However, he hasn't being sold because he's constantly in trouble trying to protect the other omegas around and he ends up with bruises and injuries on his skin after trying to fight with the guards.

So he's been put in isolation for the time being so his injuries heal, and he can look pretty for the buyers.

This is certainly a nightmare that he naively thought didn't exist in the world. However, he's determined not to give up.

He's certain it's nighttime, because the guards move around a lot when there's going to be a change of shifts.

Suddenly, an alarm Izuku has never heard before goes off, and he gets closer to his metal door; he knows he won't get an answer if he asks, and it'll probably be impossible for them to understand him because of the muzzle. It's been a whole day since they put it on him, as a punishment, which is why he hasn't drank water or eaten anything.

He hears he people outside running and screaming ; he just hopes the other omegas are alright, but then, detonations start to be heard in the distance.

Izuku's inner omega makes him start banging against his own door with his hands. He doesn't worry that much about himself at this point, but there are a lot of people who don't deserve to suffer even more.

"Are the others alright? You have to evacuate them!" He yells, but he knows it's useless. He's less than an object to them, they would never listen to him even if they could.

At the other side, he can hear the guards screaming something, they sound scared and worried; something went wrong, but Izuku can't tell what it is. However, the explosions get closer.

He gets ready; he knows that he'd probably die, but if the explosion destroys his door he could have a chance of survival and perhaps manage to get out of there.

"WHERE IS HE?"

A new voice bellows right outside and there's something familiar about it, a voice that he hasn't heard in years.

"DEKU!"

Izuku is not sure how his childhood friend knows he's there; he's actually shocked that the number one pro hero still remembers him, but that doesn't mean he's not absolutely relieved to hear his voice again.

"Kacchan! Here!"

Izuku desperately tries to take the muzzle off, but it's useless, there's a padlock at the back of it.

Katsuki growls again before he knocks the two guards down (or at least the omega hopes that's the case).

"Deku, if you're here, get way from the door. I'll try to only blow up the lock, but the thing might collapse because of the energy of the detonation."

Without hesitation, Izuku retreats to the other side of the room; he hears the small explosion, amazed at the control Katsuki has over his quirk now.

The door almost falls inside the room, but the alpha catches it on time, and like it doesn't weigh a thing, he moves it to the side with ease.

Katsuki has turned into a very tall, and strong alpha during the years they didn't see each other.

When the dust fades, and red eyes meet his, Izuku gets scared of the amount of rage he sees there. Feeling a bit confused, he hears his inner omega purr in response and then he realizes that Katsuki is not angry with him but at what those people did to him.

The alpha's hands are trembling when he crosses the distance between them; he reaches towards Izuku's face, but he doesn't touch it.

"Who did this to you?" He growls as he immediately tries to remove the muzzle. Izuku wasn't exactly tortured when he was there, but he though he'd eventually grow wary of all alphas, however, his inner omega clearly feels safe next to Katsuki. Perhaps it's because he smells familiar, of a time he had no idea that the world could be this cruel. "Don't move, I'll blow up the padlock"

Once again, Izuku is not afraid, he just stays still, hears the tiny explosion and feels completely different as soon as he doesn't have that thing over his mouth.

It's hope. He feels genuinely hopeful again.

"We have to get out of here, I'll deal with the bastards later. Don't worry they won't be able to escape. The place is surrounded by pro heroes."

Izuku nods, fascinated to see his childhood friend as a professional hero.

"Can I touch you?"

"Yes, but I can perfectly walk on my own, if that's what-"

Dynamight doesn't let him finish, neither does he hesitate, he carries the omega in his arms before getting out of there.

The rest of the night feels weird; Izuku seems to have disconnected himself from everything else. His energy has decreased completely and he's barely aware that Katsuki is yelling orders and starts snarling at anyone who gets too close to Izuku, even his coworkers.

"If any of you calls a reporter or gives any of them some sort of information I'll fire you on the spot!"

Izuku, along with the other omegas, is taken to an hospital for pro heroes; he doesn't get it, until he hears Uravity say that they want to keep the identity of the victims a secret.

He's thankful for that, and somewhat relieved, until he remembers that he's also a victim. Even though he doesn't feel like one, because the other omegas suffered more than him, it certainly makes him feel different somehow.

Dynamight doesn't leave his side, only when a doctor asks him to be outside the room to make a physical evaluation. Once it's done, they allow the alpha to walk inside. They tell both of them that a psychologist is going to get there as soon as possible.

"How are the others?" Izuku asks the pro hero, who smiles in return.

"I'd say it's more important for you to focus on yourself, but I know that's useless; you're as selfless as you used to be."

"I'm not-"

"They're fine," Katsuki cuts him off, crossing his arms over his broad chest. "We managed to save them all, the ones in the facility at least."

Izuku sighs, feeling so much better now, despite the minor pain on his face and arms. He knows the ones who got sold before that day are in another place at the moment, but he's glad the others are free now.

"Thank you, Kacchan," the omega smiles, turning his head towards the alpha standing next to his bed.

"It was a group effort, nerd. I was just part of it."

Despite being known for his hunger for praise, Dynamight looks back at the omega with an almost shy expression on his face. His cheeks are slightly pink.

"I can keep an eye on him, boss!" The presences of another person in the room startles Izuku, but he relaxes somewhat when he notices that she's clearly someone who works for Katsuki's agency. She's not a pro hero, but perhaps some sort of assistant.

She's a very pretty omega, who clearly wants the attention of the pro hero, judging by the way she wears her collar; it's a bit open at the front, a clear invitation for the alpha in front of her.

Izuku remembers Katsuki when he was just a pup. He presented first, (apparently is common among prime alphas) and immediately tried to bite little Izuku. He succeeded, but the bite didn't turn into a permanent one because the green haired kid was 3 at the time, and therefore, not technically an omega yet.

His parents punished him accordingly; he couldn't see Izuku for weeks, only during school. And even there he couldn't get too close because the teachers were informed about the incident and kept them apart.

Katsuki finally couldn't stand it anymore and swore he would never bite Izuku without his permission and after courting him properly. He even apologized to his little friend and Inko, and he was so cute he melted everyone's hearts.

Then, Izuku turned out to be quirkless, and despite Katsuki saying he had ruined his perfect plan, he still said he was going to make him his mate anyway.

They fought after that, the little omega didn't like that Katsuki thought he was better than him for having a quirk, but Izuku still wanted to be with him forever (he had no idea what meant to become someone's mate at that age). However, everything changed when Izuku saw him bullying another kid.

He confronted his friend, and said he didn't want to be mates with someone who hurt other people.

Katsuki was so hurt, but he didn't know how to deal with those kind of feelings then, so he turned everything into anger and said he didn't actually want Izuku, that he'd get the perfect mate for himself! Someone with a quirk!

That's when they grew apart. But Izuku can tell he's changed a lot, especially after noticing the people around him stare at him in awe.

He deserves his perfect mate.

"No, I'll stay here."

The beautiful omega grows a bit upset when she realizes the pro hero hasn't looked at her once.

"But you must be tired, Dynamight-san!" The girl insists, getting closer to him. She's batting her long eyelashes at him.

"She's right, Kacchan. You need to rest. If you don't have anything else to do here, then go back home! I'll be fine."

"There are a few things I have to sort out."

"Then go grab a coffee or something. Actually, I can stay here alone, no need for any of you to take care of me."

The pretty omega likes the second idea better and she tentatively tries to grab the alpha's arm, but he turns around to glare at her.

"You know I don't like to be touched."

"Oh, yeah! Sorry, my bad!" She apologizes. "But we can still go get something to eat."

"I'm not hungry, I want to stay with Izuku."

Katsuki then gets closer to the bed and offers the green haired omega some water; he helps him drink it despite Izuku telling him he can do it himself.

The look the omega throws at him over the pro hero's shoulder makes him realize that the woman doesn't like him at all. He'd like to tell her she has nothing to worry about, but he's really tired at the moment. She'll figure it out herself.

He has a more important question to ask. Well, maybe a couple.

"How did you know I was there? How did you find them?"

The omega regrets both of those immediately, because they make Katsuki incredibly sad; he starts tearing up, Izuku just saw him cry once, when his mother and him moved out of their old house.

"Izuku, please, please... You have to believe me when I say this: I am not the piece of shit I was when we were children. You deserved a better friend. I just... I'm truly sorry and I hope one day you can forgive me for everything I did."

"Kacchan, I forgave you a long time ago!"

Still tearing up, the alpha collapses on the chair next to the bed and leans closer to pull him into his arms. A bit confused, because Katsuki just said he didn't like physical contact, he hesitates, but when he realizes that the alpha probably needs it, he hugs him back.

The alpha doesn't stop touching him, he leans even more to rest his head over Izuku's chest. The omega runs his fingers through his spiky hair, thinking that the position must be killing Katsuki's back.

It's amazing how safe Izuku feels next to him considering he's a very powerful alpha, and the fact that he spent a month in a place where alphas took advantage of their own strength to control omegas.

"That still doesn't answer my question, Kacchan," he whispers softly, still stroking the blond's hair.

"I went to apologize, when I finally grew a pair and knew what was the right thing to do, I looked for your Mom at the address my old hag had, bu then I found out she wasn't... there anymore and that you owned the apartment. But when I got there I found it completely destroyed and your All Might collection on the floor. That's when I knew something was not right. I can't believe you're still a nerd, by the way."

Despite relieving painful memories, Izuku can't help but chuckle at that.

"I bet you still are a nerd too, Kacchan."

"Damn right I am!" Katsuki lifts his head so he can wipe the tears from Izuku's face with his thumbs. "I started looking for you, and by doing that I stumbled upon these assholes, and I got even more scared for you when I realized that they sold omegas. I... did everything I could to find you as soon as possible because I knew that if they had already given you to an alpha, it'd be more difficult for me to search for you. I'm sorry it took me so long, Izuku!"

That's when the omega finally notices the shadows under the alpha's eyes; he's truly exhausted.

"I bet you didn't sleep much," Izuku scolds him gently. "It's alright, Kacchan. You found me and all those omegas and that's all that matters."

"Can we stay together from now on, Izuku?"

"Of course, Kacchan," he smiles back, trying to calm his inner omega down. Fortunately, he has very clear that he's not a desirable omega to start a family with. "You'll always be my friend."

"Right... friend."

A couple of minutes later, the pro hero falls asleep, with his head over the omega's chest and immediately starts purring.

The loud sounds bring a couple of nurses to the room and finally the doctor, whose eye twitches in a very exasperated way.

"Do you want me to kick him out of here, Midoriya? It'd be my pleasure!"

Izuku thanks her for worrying about him, but the omega assures her that he's completely fine.

Besides, he likes Katsuki's burnt caramel scent.

"Let him sleep, I'm fine," he says. "He saved me, it's the least I can do for him."

The doctor rolls her eyes, but she gives in.

"I'll check on the others and come back in an hour. If he's still there, pressing down your lungs, I'll grab him by the collar and drag him out of here if I have to."

"Understood!" Izuku chuckles, feeling a lot better despite everything that has happened.

He makes a mental note to wake Katsuki up in a few minutes, but he falls asleep right away.

Chapter Text

"What was that alpha purr about, brat? Don't think I don't know what it means."

"Could you please talk more quietly? Izuku needs to rest."

"You still look at him the way you used to when you were a tiny little brat, you know? I think it's cute!"

"I'm not that scumbag anymore! I don't look at him like he's beneath me!"

"You don't seem to remember correctly, but what your mother is trying to say is that, despite what you wanted everyone to believe, you never looked at him with any sort of contempt, on the contrary you pretty much ado-"

"Alright, I get it!"

"You're blushing, brat? I haven't seen you do that in a while..."

"SHUT UP!"

A growl finally wakes him up completely and, for a moment, the fact that he finds himself on a bed, attached to some sort of IV fluids, that go directly into the vein in his arm, make him feel some sort of unease.

Are they sedating me? What part of the facility is this?

With a gasp, Izuku sits on the bed and tries to take the IV off, but a gentle hand stops him. Then, when a very protective burnt caramel scent fills his nostrils, he remembers what happened the other night.

"Easy, Izuku. You're safe. I won't let anything happen to you, I swear."

As his eyes finally adjust to the lights, and he meets a pair of worried and yet gentle eyes, he sighs in relief.

The nightmare is over.

"Kacchan, I'm glad you're still here."

"I'm not going anywhere, nerd."

"Oh, Izuku! We're so glad you're alright! We've been so worried about you!"

Finally, the omega notices the couple at the entrance of the room; Mitsuki rushes to his side, despite Dynamight huffing at her, and reminding her to be careful around Izuku.

Masaru walks inside carefully, smiling at the omega with so much kindness, Izuku can't help but tear up a bit.

"You were worried?"

"Of course! This brat here told us from the moment he located your apartment. He's been giving us updates since he started the investigation."

"We've been praying for you to come back safely. I'm glad our prayers were heard." Masaru adds, sitting on a chair next to the bed as Mitsuki gets even closer.

"I'm so sorry about Inko. We miss her too."

That's when Izuku starts sobbing, he doesn't want to make a scene or make them feel uncomfortable, but he can't stop.

"I miss her so much, auntie!"

"I know, I know," Mitsuki nods sympathetically before giving him a hug.

"Careful, old hag!"

She flips him off before Masaru gets closer too, only to give the omega a hug as well.

He now remembers how these people always made him feel at home when he was just a pup; they were so kind to him and seemed to approve of his friendship with little Katsuki.

He's missed this sensation of belonging for a while now.

"Can you let him breathe?"

"It's alright, Kacchan. I'm fine!"

The Bakugos take a few steps back then, to give him some space, but Mitsuki keeps holding his hand. Katsuki does his best to look annoyed, but the omega can tell he's pleased at the sight.

The pretty omega comes back with the doctor. She starts reading out loud some of the mediation he has to take for a while, and how many days he has to rest in order to recover completely.

Behind the doctor, the assistant is saying "Hi" at the Bakugos and smiling at them with an enthusiasm that confuses Izuku and clearly irritates Mitsuki for some reason.

"I'd love to eat some of your delicious food some day, Mitsuki-san! Maybe my boss can take me to your place to have a nice family dinner one of these days."

"One: you're not family. Two: I'm not a bad cook, but my husband takes care of that because he's the best. And Three: shut the hell up because you don't let me listen to the doctor."

The woman is clearly offended and perhaps even mad at Mitsuki, but she keeps smiling and nodding at them.

Masaru looks clearly uncomfortable, but he doesn't apologize on behalf of his wife.

Ignoring the scene behind her, the doctor gives Izuku a new collar that protects his cent glands and a supply of suppressants.

"You'll be able to go back home this afternoon."

The mere mention of the apartment, of having to go back to it, makes Izuku's body grow tense.

That's the place where everything happened; they manged to break in at night and no matter how hard the omega tried to fight and call for help, they completely overpowered him. They were four, very strong alphas against him after all, he knew he wouldn't stand a chance.

His vision turns blurry and he feels exactly like he did the last night his apartment stopped being a safe place for him. It's true, the area surrounding the old building was never that secure, but in all the time his mother and he lived there they were alright.

They used to be happy there.

He's not sure he can call that home anymore, except that he knows he has to go back to it, he has nowhere else to go.

"Midoriya, you have to breathe. Come on."

Is that the doctor? Why he can't see those faces clearly? In fact, he's almost sure they're saying something else, things he cannot focus on.

"Brat, you have to release a calming scent. It's the easiest way. He'll pass out before anyone gets here with the proper medication."

"Deku... Izuku, listen to me... You'll be fine. I promise you."

The moment that caramel scent fills his lungs, everything seems to go back to normal; he can breathe deeply again, and his heart is not beating like his chest is about to explode.

"I'll add some medication for panic attacks." The doctor says, writing something down on her iPad. "I'll call the therapist right away."

A warm hand holds his, and Izuku finds Katsuki red and concerned eyes staring at him already.

"You know you can tell me anything, nerd. What happened?"

"I don't think I'm ready to go back there," he stammers, shaking a bit, prompting Katsuki to intertwine their fingers together.

"I can send him to an omega shelter!" The assistant offers immediately. Mitsuki narrows her eyes at her.

"That'd be great, thank you-"

"It was never my intention to make you go back there, at least not now. You'll be staying with me."

"But Kacchan-"

"You can't do that, boss!" The pretty omega looks visibly upset, although she tries not lose her cool in front of Dynamight's parents. "It'll ruin your current ranking!"

The pro hero freezes, expression turning into a very annoyed one. He turns around slowly to face her, prompting her to smile nervously.

"What do you mean by that?"

"What will people think of you if they find out you're living with a quirkless omega?"

Izuku's eyes burn at those words, she's right, some people won't like it, especially if they think there's something going on between the two. After all those years of being rejected and finding no sign of someone like him to share his life and dreams with, Izuku has officially given up on romance.

"Kacchan, I think it'd be better for me to say somewhere el-"

"You're fucking fired!" Katsuki doesn't even listen to his protest, instead focuses his anger towards the woman in front of him.

"What? I'm just trying to look out for you!" She turns towards the Bakugos for support, but both Dynamight's parents are staring at her in disapproval. Even Masaru is no longer being polite; he shakes his head. "You're making a mistake! Your popularity will sink to the bottom if you keep like this!"

"So be it," Katsuki has the audacity to smirk then. "I don't care what shitty people like you think about me. And I certainly don't want them as my fans."

"Alright, I apologize, I admit I crossed a line there. But It's only because I care about you deeply, Dynamight-san! Listen, what if you all go take a break and I arrange everything for the quirkless omega's release?"

One of Katsuki's eye twitches, and Izuku can tell he's doing everything to calm himself down.

"You no longer work for me."

"What? You can't be serious! You don't want to fire me!" The woman insists, trying to smile at him.

"Go pack your fucking stuff and leave the agency before I go back because I don't want to see your face again. Trust me, after this you're safer far away from me."

She's outright sobbing, but she still sends Izuku a venomous glare from her spot.

"He's probably just pretending to get closer to you, Dynamight-san. He'll cause you nothing but trouble."

The omega gets so worried about Katsuki or his parents believing he'd try to do something like that, that he desperately tries to say something...

Hoever, Mitsuki sits right next to him on the bed, placing a gentle hand on his chest area to softly pushing him back down on the mattress.

"It's okay, we all know you're not trying to trick anyone. We've known you for a while now, Izuku, and we know you have a beautiful heart, just like your mother's."

As tears slide down his cheeks, he nods, looking back at the Bakugos, feeling grateful to have people like them aback in his life.

"Don't make me call security," Dynamight snarls after smelling Izuku's distressed scent. "You're just a civilian now and this is a hospital for pro heroes and their families. So fuck off!"

Finally, the pretty omega leaves, still crying angrily.

"Honestly, good riddance!" Mitsuki says with a relieved grin as the woman disappears from view.

Katsuki nods at this mother.

"I should've fired her a while ago, but I never seemed to have the time. She was already getting on my nerves." He closes the door so no one else gets in before returning to Izuku's side and kneeling next to the bed. "And I'm pretty sure you didn't let any of her words affect you, right, nerd? Because we both know she's full of shit."

The green haired omega blushes when a pair of thumbs start wiping his tears away.

"Are you sure about this, Kacchan?"

"I am," the pro hero answers sincerely before holding one of his hands in both of his. "However, I know you went through a very traumatic experience, and I understand if you don't trust any alpha at the moment."

Izuku wants to tell him he does trust him, but the pro hero continues without making a pause: "I know words don't mean much without proof, and I promise I'll prove it to you eventually, but for now I hope you believe me when I say that I'd rather kill myself than hurting you or even touching you without your consent."

"I know you'll never hurt me, Kacchan."

Katsuki looks at him fondly but also like the omega is crazy for trusting someone just like that.

"But if you'd rather stay anywhere else, I'll respect your decision. Just please let me visit you."

Izuku finally notices that the Bakugos are giving them as much space as possible. They're sitting at the other side of the room, but still staring at their son like they're very proud of him.

"I trust you, Kacchan."

Relieved and hopeful, the alpha smiles at him fully, to the point the omega can notice his dimples; he thought they had disappeared when he was in middle school.

Izuku wishes he didn't look so handsome smiling, however, he knows that's impossible, so he manages to distract himself by thinking about what he's going to do next. He doesn't want to be a bother to him.

"I have plenty of rooms for you to choose," Katsuki is saying now, and the omega has to remind himself he should focus on the present first. "Besides, I bet Radar would gladly bite my dick off if you let her know I'm bothering you in any way."

Who's Radar? Is a hero name? Does another pro hero live with him?

"You're right, brat! She wouldn't hesitate! I'm sure she'll love Izuku as soon as she sees him!" Mitsuki comments then. "Especially after she got so used to his scent. I mean you brought so many of his clothes to your penthouse!"

"I know what you're doing, honey. Please, stop teasing our son."

"You really are no fun, Masaru!"

After glaring at his own mother, the alpha looks back at Izuku with a deep blush radiating from his face to his neck.

"I'm sorry, Deku. I was... really desperate to find you, so I tried to get Radar to help me. That's why I took some of your stuff."

"You don't have to apologize for doing everything you could to find me! You saved me, and I'll always be thankful for that!"

So it seems he also owes Radar too; although her presence in Katsuki's home makes him feel better. That means people won't be talking about him because he already has a mate with a quirk living with him.

He found his perfect mate after all.

"So... when they release you, you'll be coming with me, right?"

"Of course, Kacchan! Thank you for letting me stay with you!"

"You can stay forever if you want."

"Wow, you certainly are bold, brat. You remind me so much of myself when I was your age. You remember, darling?"

Masaru turns red as Katsuki rolls his eyes and makes a puking sound.

"You have done more than enough, now leave us alone!"

Actually, the three Bakugos have to leave the room when the psychologist arrives. He stays an hour with Izuku; the omega can't say much about his days at that place, but he tells him about his mother and how much he misses her.

"It's okay for you not to talk about your experiences in the building they kept you," he says after a while. "And I'm not saying you should force yourself to remember, but when the memories come, along with their respective emotions, try not to shut them down. I know it's going to be difficult and you probably won't succeed in the first few attempts, but you have to try. Because if you let all those things bottle up, it'd be worse when they finally come out."

He reminds the omega to give himself time to mourn his mother and find a different place for her in his life; as positive memories, as a presence that reminds him he's not entirely alone or as someone who never stopped loving him.

"Here's my number. I'll see you next week in my office. Nice to meet you, Midoriya."

As soon as he's gone, and Izuku wipes his own tears away, Katsuki comes back into the room as his parents say goodbye to him and invite him to have dinner with them when he's ready.

"Are you okay, nerd?"

"I'm feeling a lot better, Kacchan."

***

The omega is glad his friend already got some of his clothes at his place, and even more grateful after realizing he brought with him clean ones. A light pink sweater and a pair of jeans that Izuku already missed.

Before Katsuki can stop him, he asks the nurse at the front desk for his hospital bills, but when the man types his name in the system, he tells him that everything has been already paid for.

When he meets Dynamight at the hospital entrance, he's confused and gets even more so when he notices the light blush on the alpha's cheeks.

"A government program for victims or something?"

"Well... yeah, the other omegas will get that, but I... I added your name to my insurance the moment you disappeared."

"You didn't have to!"

"But I wanted to! Now let's not talk about this again. Just get in the car, Deku."

That vehicle looks so expensive that feels wrong to call it just a car. And the building where Katsuki lives is even worse than that.

He wonders about his partner. Will she be okay with having an omega like him in the penthouse? No doubt she won't feel threatened by Izuku, but he wonders what she thinks of quirkless people.

The omega shakes his head scolding himself for that, she's obviously great because Katsuki choose her!

The password to unlock Dynamight's penthouse is: 0715 which is exactly Izuku's birthday; he doesn't point that out because the alpha probably doesn't remember anymore and he doesn't think that matters.

However, when the pro hero tells him the password, he looks at Izuku with curiosity, almost as if he's expecting a reaction from him, but at the same time looking a bit embarrassed about it.

A loud barking distracts him, especially because it's coming from inside the penthouse.

"Yes, Radar. I missed you too. I also brought someone with me."

What? Is Radar a dog?

He gets the confirmation to his questions the moment Dynamight finally opens the door completely and a beautiful German shepherd greets the alpha with a few happy barks and then trots past him before Katsuki can stop her; she almost jumps towards Izuku.

The omega manages to keep his balance though. He smiles in delight at the precious dog in front of him. She's standing on two paws as she places the others over Izuku's chest a few seconds. As she gets down, she starts wagging her tail happily.

Katsuki rolls his eyes, but he's clearly satisfied with the dog's reaction.

"She doesn't trust anyone. Just me and my parents. But you? She loves you already."

He entourages everyone to go inside and after the omega takes his shoes off, he kneels to properly greet Radar.

"You're such a pretty girl! A very good girl!" Izuku says as he places his arms around her soft fur, the dog licks his cheek in response.

His heart melts on the spot.

"I love her too, Kacchan!"

"I know," the alpha says as he watches them with a fond expression on his face before walking into the bathroom to take a shower.

It's not the only bathroom in the house, so Izuku decides to do the same and promises Radar he'd be back as soon as possible.

"I'll make dinner, Deku. A soup sounds good?" The pro hero asks a couple of minutes later, after knocking softly at the other bathroom door.

"Yes, thank you, Kacchan!"

His inner omega purrs in delight; this really feels like home already. Although he knows he should be careful with those kind of thoughts.

Chapter Text

He has nightmares the first few nights and even though he closes his door, Radar hears him and so does Katsuki. He really feels bad about causing the alpha trouble; he has a very tiring job and Izuku only makes it hard for him to have proper night's rest.

Will he get tired of having the omega in his house? If that's the case, he won't blame him. He just hopes is not anytime soon because he doesn't think he's ready to go back to his apartment.

A few, gentle knocks at the door tell him the alpha heard him again.

"I'm sorry for waking you up!" the omega apologizes, feeling suddenly cold, wondering if he'll be able to close his eyes again. Although he kinda doesn't want to.

"Can I open the door a bit, Deku? I just want to make sure you're alright."

Biting his bottom lips and quickly using his own long sleeved shirt to wipe his tears off, Izuku tells him, trying not to stammer, to open the door.

"Another nightmare?" Despite given permission, Katsuki remains at the other side of the entrance.

He nods, hoping he can see him only with the hallway light. When he asks why he doesn't come inside, the pro hero almost chuckles.

"Well, I don't want to make you feel uncomfortable or threatened, but even if I thought my presence wouldn't make you feel worse, you devoted guardian is here, blocking my way."

The omega smiles, finally noticing Radar's silhouette right in front the tall alpha.

She's obviously not growling at his owner, the dog doesn't even look tense in the slightest; she's just stubbornly blocking his way at the moment.

"Do you need anything, Izuku?"

He always lies to his friend and tells him that he doesn't, but this time, the temptation is too much to resist. He's been thinking about it for a while now, and he genuinely believes it could work.

His inner omega would feel much better that way.

He just hopes Katsuki doesn't get mad at him. What if he finds the request disgusting? If he tells the omega that he can't do it, then Izuku will never say anything about it again.

He'll even apologize if he has to.

"Actually, could you let me borrow one of your shirts with your scent? It's okay if you don't want to-"

Taken by surprise, a black shirt gets thrown at him and it hits his face directly. Good thing it wasn't a heavy object, although he doesn't think Katsuki would have throw it if he thought he could hurt him in the process.

When he takes the shirt off his face, he realizes that it's the same the pro hero was wearing to sleep, because he's now very much shirtless.

Trying not to stare at his muscles or the multiple scars on his torso, the omega takes off his own shirt quickly and then puts the one Katsuki gave him. As the caramel scent reaches his nose, Izuku relaxes almost instantly.

"Now give me yours."

"W-What?"

"A shirt for a shirt seems like a fair deal to me, Deku."

Since he can't argue that, hoping his friend doesn't notice the blush on his cheeks, he throws his at him, watching as Katsuki catches it with ease.

The alpha smirks almost on purpose, he doesn't hide the fact that he wants to smells his scent, because he gets it close to his nose right after he catches it.

"Kacchan!"

"What? I like your scent."

Maybe he's doing that to distract him from his horrible dreams, because it's certainly working. Izuku now feels like his face is on fire.

"Goodnight, nerd. I hope you sleep well. If you need anything, please don't hesitate to ask for help."

"Thanks, Kacchan!"

When he leaves, Radar turns around wagging her tail.

"Yes, you did an amazing job, girl! Now come here!"

The German shepherd doesn't hesitate to jump next to Izuku; she protectively lies next to him, curling up facing the door.

It's like she's ready to guard it from anyone who wants to enter, which is a bit funny, but almost endearing considering the other person in the penthouse is Bakugo Katsuki, number one pro hero and the reason why Izuku is safe now.

After giving her a hug, the omega is able to fall asleep again.

The shirt exchange, along with Radar's company, works wonders for him; the nightmares don't come back after that, and he's able to open up more with his therapist.

"So you let her sleep on your bed now?" Katsuki mumbles he next morning, still wearing the omega's shirt, that's a bit too tight for him.

It's a bit distracting.

"Yes, I hope it's okay! She makes me feel safe."

"You know you can do whatever the fuck you want here, Deku. This is your house too." The alpha smiles before giving his dog a piece of meat. "Here. You deserve it, you lucky girl. Sometimes I wish I could trade places with you."

Katsuki must be really tired of working so hard, he should take a couple of days off, but he bites his advice back in because he doesn't want to upset him. Who is he to tell him what to do after all?

***

After a month, Izuku gets his job back, the principal of the school he worked at before the kidnapping is a good man, and he assures him that he'll always have a place in the school.

Katsuki, even though he's clearly happy for him, has turned into a very protective alpha and the thought of the omega being outside the penthouse for so many hours concerns him.

it took him a while to get used to Izuku going out for a run every single morning, and he suspects he isn't that opposed to the idea because he always takes Radar with him.

So he reluctantly agrees to it, but he wants to stay in contact with the omega (yes, the stubborn alpha bought him a new phone despite how many times Izuku told him it wasn't necessary).

The omega doesn't protest to his overprotective behavior because he's also quite nervous about being away for so long, but the therapist tells him it'll be good for him.

He's also happy to have his students back; he doesn't let them know the whole story about his absence because they're too young for that, but he tells them briefly about his mother and that he had to stay away because he was too sad to come back.

Weeks past quickly after that, and even though Katsuki insists he's a nerdy teacher now, he seems genuinely happy to see the omega so motivated.

"You look even prettier now. Being a nerdy sensei suits you after all."

Izuku rolls his eyes because he knows the alpha only wants to see him blush; he seem to enjoy teasing about every single thing lately.

And yet, the omega is still not immune to it.

However, he always listens very intently whenever Izuku talks about his students and the things they have learned that particular month. He could be making dinner for both of them or getting ready for work; he's always giving the omega his full attention.

His students have also gotten used to Dynamight's presence because he picks him up or takes him to the school as many times as possible.

"Why is your mate always grumpy, sensei?"

Te omega rolls his eyes, because he's gotten used to the kids calling Katsuki his alpha or mate, but that doesn't mean he doesn't correct them every single time.

"Kacchan is not my mate. And he looks like that because he's constantly on alert, and he's a very protective friend."

None of his students believe him and it doesn't help that Dynamight keeps taking him in his arms as soon as he sees him and nuzzling against his cheek.

Honestly, the omega doesn't stop him, not even when they're outside the school because he enjoys it, and he feels like his friend needs it, especially after a rough day at work.

Some days he almost convinces himself that his inner omega is responding to something Katsuki's inner alpha is giving away.

Maybe he need the physical affection even though he's let everyone believe he doesn't like it. Even the security people at the building and the ones in reception have told Izuku they're glad Dynamight's has someone now.

They seem to sincerely care about him because he's kind to them in his own unique way, not as friendly as Izuku is of course, but the building's staff have nothing bad to say about him.

Katsuki truly is an excellent alpha, and Izuku prays he finds the perfect omega for himself, he deserves it.

***

They have gone a couple of times to visit his mother's grave, but this time is different because the omega refuses to let Katsuki to stay far behind him; he knows he does it to give him space, but Izuku wants to show him that, the same way he welcomed him into his family again, Izuku is more than happy to do that too.

They can pray together now.

That afternoon, he tells his mother about Katsuki, about what he did for Izuku and how much his life has improved because of him.

The pro hero blushes and gets nervous like he's truly standing in front of Midoriya Inko herself; he even bows a couple of times.

"I promise you I'll take care of him, auntie. You have nothing to worry about. He's really precious to me, but you know that already now, right? I hope you do and I really hope one day I'm able to earn your approval."

Trying not to tear up, Izuku assures his friend that his mother is probably very proud of him, of he great alpha and amazing hero he has become.

"Stop that, Deku!"

Despite looking quite flustered, Katsuki takes the omega's hand before promising Inko to return soon.

***

Life has been turning back to normal slowly; Izuku finally goes back to his old apartment and finds everything in its place. He finds it puzzling, but then, after getting to know Katsuki these last couple of months, an idea occurs to him.

When he turns around to give Katsuki amused look, the alpha glances away, cheeks turning slightly pink.

"What was I supposed to do? Leave it like that?"

"You're very sweet, Kacchan!"

"I am not, but if you want to thank me, a hug will be more than enough."

"Of course, Kacchan!"

The alpha has become more physically affectionate lately, every time he comes back from work, he pulls a very confused, but content omega in his arms.

And quite often he surprises Izuku with such kind words, that it makes him hard to believe the pro hero in front of him and his middle-school self are the same person.

"You smell like spring. It's like you're a field of beautiful flowers, Izuku."

Feeling his cheeks growing hot, the omega decides to focus on the work he has to do; he's going to donate most of his mother's clothes, because he knows that's something she'd want to do. However, he keeps a few things for himself. To remember her by.

After discussing for a while with Katsuki, and talking to the therapist about it, Izuku has chosen to sell the apartment. He can't see it as home anymore, especially after what happened there.

He thinks about buying another apartment as soon as possible, although the pro hero insists the omega can stay with him forever if he wants to.

Izuku has started to socialize again, especially with Dynamight's friends, who are always looking from him to the alpha with amusement in their eyes.

"It's weird to see him act soft around someone, you know?" Kaminari says, after asking the bartender for another drink. "It's like watching a chihuahua purring instead of growling."

Izuku can't help but laugh at the comparison, especially after imagining a little dog furiously barking and wearing Katsuki's hero suit.

"Do you want me to throw this glass of whiskey at you, Dunce Face? Because it sounds like you're begging for it."

"See, Midoriya? This is exactly what I'm talking about!"

Ashido starts teaching him self-defense, and some yoga too, she also tells him to workout at home and buys him cute yoga pants to wear when he's practicing on his own.

Katsuki always has weird accidents when he finds him doing yoga in the living room after coming back from work. He's constantly stumbling into furniture or simply falling face first to the floor when he's trying to remove his boots.

The omega is sure that his clumsiness is due to the fact that he's working a lot lately so he often volunteers to make dinner those days.

"Are you okay, Kacchan?"

"Peachy."

"But you're bleeding from your nose!"

"It's alright, it's not from the fall."

"How is that not from the fall?"

"Never mind, I'm taking a cold sower now! Also, it's fine, keep grading those papers, I'm making katsudon tonight. So stay out of the kitchen, Deku!"

"Okay?"

After that, he keeps complaining that Ashido is the worst friend and all she wants is to torture him.

Kirishima puts a hand over Dynamight's shoulder that night a the bar, as Red Riot looks at him like he's a bout to deliver terrible news.

"I'm sorry, man. I couldn't stop her. Mina bought Midobro another pair of short shorts."

Katsuki turns around then only to glare at the very amused and mischievous alpha girl in front of him.

"What the fuck? Do you want to kill me, Pinky?"

Honestly, Izuku doesn't quite understand the explosive pro hero's friends and not even Katsuki sometimes, but he truly likes them all.

***

Both of them (along with Radar) have visited Katsuki's parents a couple of times now. They're always very nice to the omega, and often feed him more than enough, like caring parents would.

His mother and him always end up arguing about somenthing although Izuku knows it's nothing serious (it's obvious they carea bout each other deeply) while the omega and Masaru stay at the table having a nice conversation over tea.

Contrary to what Izuku thought, Dynamight has not lost popularity, despite people finding out that he lives with a quirkless omega now. Most of his fans have said nice things about him online, even rooting for them as a couple, despite Izuku making a Twitter account to deny the rumors.

However, not everyone is nice or kind and Izuku is aware of this very well. He's read awful comments about himself under Dynamight's fan posts, and even whole treads about how Katsuki will ruin his own life by dating a quirkless omega.

Some of those words hurt, others don't. Katsuki tells him not to read anything online and even gets into fights with people who say mean things about Izuku. He only uses his social media to post things about Izuku, Radar or insult those who are rude to the omega.

Sometimes the teacher is glad about those harsh comments, mostly because they keep him grounded; he doesn't let himself daydream and no matter how much he'll miss Katsuki and Radar, he knows he'll have to leave eventually.

That night, after cleaning the bedroom and doing the dishes (miraculously, they both manage to divide the house chores equally), he goes back to his room to finish grading papers and getting ready to sleep. Radar is happily trotting behind him the whole time, knowing Izuku will let her sleep on the bed next to him.

He gets a text from Katsuki informing him he'll be back home late, and that he'll try not to wake him up when he arrives.

Be careful, Kacchan!

The sound of an incoming call startles him, and even confuses him when he realizes the alpha is making a video call.

"What happened? Are you alright, Kacchan?"

A very pleased pro hero smiles at him from his phone.

"I'm always great, nerd! You know this!"

"Then why did you call me?"

"I just wanted to see your face before you went to sleep. Goodnight, Izuku!"

Even after he ends the call, the omega finds himself blushing. Katsuki should stop saying all those sweet things to him.

That night he tears up a bit, hugging Radar close to him for comfort. He's also wearing one of the pro hero's favorite shirts.

"I'm going to miss you two so much." He confesses quietly into the night.

Chapter Text

Izuku's old apartment has officially been sold so he gets the few things he left there, his All Might collection as well, but he keeps them in boxes when he brings them to the penthouse.

Because this means the omega has to go apartment hunting soon. He doesn't tell Katsuki about the news because he's been working a lot lately and he doesn't want to bother him with stuff he has to solve on his own.

So far the heats haven't been a problem, mostly because Izuku is taking very strong suppressants, a different kind from the ones he's used to, and they are so effective, the omega hasn't felt a thing in months, he hasn't even had his nesting period yet.

The problem with those, as his doctor keeps reminding him, is that they can't be taken for much longer than a year. Soon Izuku will have to suspend them and go back to the regular ones and he really doesn't want to kick Katsuki out of his own penthouse for days or bother someone else so they can give him a safe place to spend his heat days in.

Besides, part of him is sure he'll end up stealing every single one of Katsuki's shirts to make a nest with them, and that'd be too embarrassing.

That's another reason why he wants to hurry up.

"Welcome home, Ka-" Izuku gets cut off by being pulled into a pair of strong arms. The alpha grumbles something unintelligible as he nuzzles against the omega's cheek. "Bad day, huh? Why don't you go change while I make dinner?"

"That sounds good."

After they have dinner, they sit on the couch and watch a superhero movie on one of their streaming services they have; Radar, now lying at their feet, seems to like action movies quite a lot because she keeps barking every time there's a chase sequence.

At some point, the pro hero, now in civilian and comfortable clothes, suddenly lies down and rests his head on the omega's lap. Radar turns around the moment she hears Izuku's surprised yelp, and stares at the alpha as a warning.

"It's okay, girl!" Izuku releases a calming scent to let the dog know he's happy with this new arrangement and he doesn't feel threatened or scared at all. "I'm fine, I promise!"

"I think she's just jealous."

"Kacchan, don't make it worse!"

After realizing Izuku is alright and safe, Radar relaxes and keeps watching the movie.

The omega knows she also loves Katsuki with all her heart, but lately has been wondering if her protective behavior towards him it's because of his second gender. Or maybe she could tell that, when he arrived for the first time there, he was extremely vulnerable and scared because something bad happened to him.

Either way, she's the best girl in the world and he's very thankful for her protective behavior.

"Izuku..." halfway through the movie, the alpha requests something that confuses the teacher at first. "Help me sleep. I haven't been able to properly rest lately. I think it's because my mind is so focused on work that I can't turn it off completely."

Always ready to help, the omega looks down at his lap to find red eyes staring back at him already.

"Okay. What do I have to do?"

"Command me."

It's not going to work; Izuku doesn't know much about that, but he's almost sure it only works on mates. Or maybe people with deep, deep connections.

Even close friends are not in that category.

"I don't think-"

"Please, Izuku, just try it."

Right. There's no harm in trying and he truly wants to do something for him; Katsuki has helped him in so many ways, it's time to return the favor.

Running his fingers through that spiky hair, the omega remembers that first night at the hospital with a fond smile on his face. He can't believe it's been months since that happened, but he's absolutely thankful it did, because that ended up saving him from a horrible fate.

"Alpha. Sleep."

Izuku sees (and even feels) as Katsuki's body completely relaxes over the couch; his eyes close in seconds and his breathing turns into a soft rhythm.

Blinking a couple of times, the omega looks down, still surprised. He's not sure how that even worked, but he decides not to focus on that for too long. He's just glad the pro hero is finally getting some good sleep.

Radar turns to look at them, tilting her head to the side a couple of times. The teacher puts a finger in front of his lips, despite not being sure the dog can understand that.

"We should let him rest. You and I both know he deserves it."

He turns the TV off and carefully stands up, holding Katsuki's face and gently placing it on the couch. He then goes to the alpha's bedroom to grab a blanket and a pillow so he can be more comfortable.

Radar stays next to the couch as Izuku gathers the items, like she thinks the pro hero is the one who should be protected now.

"You're a good girl. You can stay with him if you want, but I'll leave the door of my room open in case you want to come with me."

He falls asleep quickly and wakes up for a brief moment when the dog jumps on the bed next to him, a few hours later. She probably came to the conclusion that Katsuki was safe enough, despite sleeping in the living room this time.

The next morning, as he finds the alpha cooking breakfast and Izuku gets ready for his run with Radar, Katsuki smiles almost adoringly at him, looking quite better after a good night's rest.

"Thank you."

"You're welcome, Kacchan!"

That morning as Radar and him reach the nearby park, a group of people stop him. They have recognized him from the last picture Katsuki posted on his Instagram: one of Izuku covered in soap as he tried to give Radar a bath. Or perhaps one fo the many he's been posting of the omega lately.

"Are you Dynamight's mate?"

"N-No."

"Then why did you move in with him?"

Radar is tense now, and she purposely places herself in between the omega and the three people in front of him. Thankfully, they notice that the dog does not like them at all and take a few steps back. Unfortunately, they don't leave and Izuku is polite enough to still answer their questions, even thought they make him uncomfortable.

"He's helping me out while I try to find a new place to stay."

"You've been his roommate fro a year now, right? Don't you think it's been too long? I mean he's a prime alpha on his late twenties, he most likely wants to settle down with an omega of his level."

He's read those kind of opinions before, mostly from Dynamight's simp club, but he never imagined he could encounter some of those people face to face.

It hits different when he's being confronted directly with the harsh truth.

"Yeah, I suppose you're-"

Radar growls at them, baring her teeth, looking like the fierce guardian dog she was born to be. Her warning is enough to make them leave.

After making sure they're completely gone, Izuku kneels in front of Radar to give her a hug.

"You're my hero. I love you so much."

Radar wags her tail in response.

He stops right at the entrance when he hears the alpha's irritated voice inside the penthouse. Izuku is not sure if it's because he's really close to the door or just that Katsuki is very loud sometimes.

It's probably a bit of both.

It sounds like he's speaking on the phone with someone. The omega gets closer to start typing the code, also to let the pro hero know he's there in case he wants to keep his conversation private, but he stops when he hears his own name being mentioned.

"No, I cannot fucking tell Izuku I want to start dating, old hag! I told you he's not ready! He went through a lot! I can't just tell him to-WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU CALLING A COWARD NOW?"

Something in the omega's chest hurts as he freezes outside the penthouse. So it seems Katsuki is ready to settle own and probably doesn't know how to kick him out.

Izuku has overstayed his welcome; he can't do this to his childhood friend. The pro hero has sacrificed enough for him.

Since he's not ready to face him now (he might start crying), and doesn't want the alpha to feel guilty after finding out he overheard part of the conversation with his mother, Izuku takes a few steps away from the door and looks down at a slightly confused Radar.

"Let's go for another run."

Of course, his girl is more than happy to go to the park again.

***

"How did the run go?"

"Fine!" Izuku smiles like nothing has happened, but judging by the frown upon Katsuki's face, he's not buying any of it.

"What happened?"

"Nothing! I just remembered that I have to get to school earlier to prepare my class."

"You always get everything ready the night before."

"I lost my notes. You know I can be a bit clumsy sometimes! Well... I have to take a shower now!"

Katsuki rushes towards him, arms crossed as he block his way out of the living room.

"You haven't eaten your breakfast yet."

"Kacchan, can you please pack it for me? I don't have time, but I can eat it once I get to the school."

The alpha stares at him with concern, but he sighs, before moving out of his way.

"You know you can tell me anything, right?"

The omega nods, trying no to spill out everything then and there because he knows that Katsuki would feel terribly guilty about it, and try to convince him that's not what he meant at all.

But the pro hero will eventually need his own space; Izuku is sure he'll meet someone soon (or maybe already did) and, if he's being honest with himself, at this point the omega is not sure if he can deal with that.

"I'll also get ready to take you-"

"There's no need, Kacchan! I can get there on my own!" The teacher assures him before closing the door to the bathroom so the pro hero can't argue with him anymore.

He needs to find a new apartment as soon as possible.

***

Turns out apartment hunting is as difficult as it sounds, especially for a single omega; real estate agents don't take him seriously because he doesn't have an alpha, they always prioritize families and couples.

It's quite frustrating.

Some of them even try to flirt with Izuku and ask him out, but when the omega mentions that he's quirkless, a few lose interest completely and the others try to convince him to have "fun" with them for a while.

But he's not looking for that kind of relationship, well, in fact, he's not looking for any kind of romantic or sexual relationship at all.

However, some of them really don't understand what is an outright "No" or perhaps think that Izuku needs more persuasion, and, in consequence, they act in a way that ends up creeping him out. He always has to take out his phone and pretend he's on a call with his many alpha siblings who are very tall, strong and protective of him.

Would that be the case if he had siblings? Or maybe he'd have been the overprotective one.

At least his imaginary siblings help him scare a few very stubborn alphas off. But that doesn't mean the trick will work every single time.

Whether he likes the idea or not, he needs an alpha to go apartment hunting.

And for that, he decides to call Ashido Mina and beg her not to tell anything to Katsuki.

"Why do you want to move out of the penthouse? Is Blasty being an idiot? Do you need me to melt his dick off?"

"Not at all! Kacchan is a great friend! He'd never hurt me. It's just... I think it's time for me to leave; he needs his own space to start dating if he wants to."

Ashido takes a deep breath, Izuku can't see her face but he knows she has a lot to say.

"Darling, I love you and you know I consider you my bestie now, but sweetie, you can be really oblivious sometimes. Listen, we both know Blasty, and when he wants something it's pretty much obvious, besides, if he really wanted to date someone else, he'd have told you a while ago. Or even introduce you to this hypothetical person."

Someone else?

Izuku gets a bit confused by her choice of words, but he doesn't interrupt her.

"That alpha has wanted only one ass in his entire life and that is yours."

The omega almost drops his phone in shock, as his cheeks turn slightly pink, he tries to process what she's trying to tell him, but it doesn't make much sense.

Although he can't blame her, she doesn't know what the omega hear a few days ago. She wouldn't be saying that if she knew; she's probably just confused.

"I think y-you're mistaken. I mean, that's not possible."

"Why not, darling?"

Because I am me. Just that, and nothing else.

Yes, Katsuki was just a child when he said it, but Izuku thinks his friend really deserves a perfect omega.

After a few seconds of silence, he hears her sigh again.

"I know it's none of my business, but I think you should talk to him about your plans to move out."

"I will."

Well, he kinda has to, eventually.

"Alright, darling. So... you said that you needed me to go apartment hunting with you today?"

"Yes!" Izuku says, relieved that she finally changed the topic. "If you can and want to, of course."

"I can't at the moment, I'm about to start my patrol with Blasty."

"We can reschedule!"

"No, it's alright. I have a friend, who's a pro hero as well; he's a very respectful alpha. I'd trust him with my life. Besides, I think it's his day off."

"But... Is he okay with this? I mean he probably has plans already."

"I'm sure he doesn't, he's not very social, but I'll ask first if that makes you feel better. I'll text you in a minute, also send me the location where you want him to meet you!"

***

"Midoriya Izuku?"

The omega turns around and gets quite startled when sees Japan's number two pro hero in front of him, wearing civilian clothes. Since he's the only alpha outside the building where Izuku is supposed to meet the real estate agent, he is almost certain he's the one Ashido was talking about earlier.

He can't believe this is how he gets to meet Pro hero Shoto.

"Uhh... Y-Yes! I'm guessing that Ashido told you about me and my predicament?"

The hero nods, glancing at him with curiosity.

"She said you needed an alpha for apartment hunting? And she also mentioned people weren't treating you well..."

"Something like that, yeah," he says, still very much flustered. "Are you sure you have time for this? It's okay if you have something important to do, I'll understand."

"The old man planned a family reunion for this afternoon because he found out it was my day off. He wanted to make sure I didn't have an excuse to miss it. But now, thanks to you, I have one. We can take as long as you want."

The omega wasn't expecting to get that much information about a person he just met, but he's glad to know the pro hero actually agreed to this.

"Thank you so much, Pro hero Shoto!"

"Please, call me Todoroki."

"Okay!"

He doesn't want his suspicions to get confirmed because that says a lot about the world he lives in, and none of it is actually good, but he realizes that people do treat you differently if you go out with an alpha.

Not only they treat him seriously, they seem to respect him, also if any of them thought about asking him out, they swallow heir words before they even get out the moment they see the very tall pro hero right behind him.

A few of them happen to be omegas and betas, and some do try to flirt with Todoroki, but fail miserably because he doesn't seem to understand what they want and he's usually standing very close to Izuku, which makes a few of them assume they're a couple.

Sadly, none of the apartments end up convincing him and a few of them get dismissed by Todoroki, because the locations are quite dangerous.

"Let's exchange numbers so you can call me whenever you want to go looking for more apartments."

"Really?"

"Yes, it was really fun and I enjoy your company a lot."

"Okay! See you soon, Todoroki!"

The pro hero offers to take him back to the penthouse (yes, Izuku told him a bit about his current situation) but the omega assures him that he's fine taking the train.

When he's finally back home, he finds Katsuki already there, making dinner.

"Hi, Kacchan! I-"

"What took you so long? Are those brats making you work extra hours somehow?"

One of the things he likes about the explosive alpha is that he never sounds accusatory or that he wants to be in control of every aspect of Izuku's life. The omega knows he only worries about him.

The concern in his eyes makes him feels so guilty that for once he decides to take Ashido's advice, instead of his own, and tell him about his plans.

"I have something important to tell-"

He gets a bit distracted when Radar greets him, but after he gives the dog a couple of headpats and tells her how precious she is, he takes a deep breath before turning around and finally have a serious conversation with Katsuki.

But just as he's about to speak, the pro hero pulls him into his arms, in a very tight embrace.

"You smell off, Deku. I don't like it," Katsuki grumbles, desperately nuzzling against his collared neck. "Please, let me scent you. I can't focus if you're smelling like that."

"I can take a shower," the omega says, wondering if the explosive pro hero is actually smelling a bit of Todoroki's scent on him.

"No, this is faster."

"Alright, Kacchan, just this time."

And later they will talk.
