Weave

Summary:

It was all mere, mere surface, and meaningless.

Work Text:

Garendal flicked the ring on her finger, it gave just enough advantage, surprise, if it was needed. All eventualities, all possibilities must be considered.

Her pets cast long, adoring glances at her, as she sat in her chair, her streith, it rippled in the changing light that was so primitive, not at all like glow-bulbs had been.

The rooms around her were luxurious, but it was all mere, mere surface, and meaningless.

On a nearby settee there was soft laughter, the rustle of fabrics, slow sighs, half-bitten moans.

Garendal glanced over her shoulder, though it was unnecessary, Evan Rimmal had always liked to do things by hand, that had not changed.

The great emerald eyes smiled slowly, coolly, as the sultry smile slowly widened, as that so called so dumpy looking Aes Sedai gasped louder, the black shiny curls fluttered, as Aran'gar whispered, "Delana, Delana, you must try harder."

A slight chill enveloped Garendal's shoulders.

Streith darkened, as the sultry voice remarked lightly, "I know she's nowhere near your standards, but you have to have fun sometimes, don't you?"

Garendal glanced coolly at Aran'gar, as she said, "You're too transparent, I have my own fun."

A soft laugh echoed, as she noted, " Weaves, and plots."

Aran´gar glanced slowly at Garendal, as the sun-haired, abundant Chosen only examined her rings quietly, golden light sparkling in the abundant curls, as she stretched her hair cat-like softly, and stated, "The Dark One knows all."

Soft music began to play, as the pets began to dance, veils fluttering, for a brief moment she missed the scent of Comoland, as she still heard Yeanet's piercing cries in her ears, as that conversation had come to its expected conclusion.

She extended her wrist in a graceful arc, as one of her pets, bent down and licked her fingers, slowly, so so slowly.

Aran´gar laughed, brightly.

A dove cooed in the golden cage.

Soon it was time, to put one of her weaves to use, but not quite yet.

There was still time.

The Wheel would break.

The Wolf King would experience despair, and all the dark prophecies would come true, just as she had concluded.

Eventually.
