The Clue Murders

Summary:

A mysterious house looms over you and you can’t help but be drawn to it. As you walk up to the front door, you notice that something quite right, do you dare to adventure further?

Notes:

Authors note:

The two perspectives from the story are from the author (me), so when I talk to the people in the book, that's what I’m talking about.

You play Wadsworth (the butler of Boddy Manor), so when I say “you,” I’m talking about the reader, and the reader is playing the character of Wadsworth.
This story is based on the Clue board game, not the movie or the stage play. If you say to yourself, “This wasn’t in the movie!” Maybe because it wasn’t.

I got the idea to write this story based on a clue game my cousins and I played. After our game, I brainstormed a way to turn that game we played into an actual story with more detail.
The reader is seen to be in their early to mid-20s; the author’s age is unknown.
Thank you for reading, and remember that I still need to edit this, so some parts may be confusing.

Chapter 1: Epilogue

Chapter Text

Look, I didn’t mean to kill him. Oh, alright, I did, but I never meant for her to see.

You must never tell her it was me; the shock could kill her. It almost did kill her.
She is alive, but she is not well. She has been on constant medical watch for the past few months now, and this is why you must keep this a secret between you and me.
You must promise, swear you will never tell a soul what I am going to tell you now.
The year was 1984, and the dark clouds loomed over Boddy Manor. We have been expecting rain for a while now, but it has not come. Will it ever come?

Silence.

Silence rings throughout the halls as I recount this story to you now. The house has been empty after the… incident…

Writing this makes me feel like I need to glance over my shoulder at frequent intervals. They are always watching, and they are out to get me.
I’m afraid I don’t have much time left, so I'd better do this quickly.

However, before we start, I must warn you, as you read this story, a sense of impending doom will wash over you. Don’t worry about it, they are just here to check in on you.

If you keep reading this book, every time you glance out of the corners of your eyes, you will see a set of eyes; you will continue to see these until the day you die.

Or, you could just put the book down. Put it down, and your day will be significantly lighter, and your life will be normal. Just put down the book.

If you don’t, don’t say I didn’t warn you.
