Chapter Text
Slingshot was to be found in his own café, wiping down the countertops and other debris from her shift, humming to herself as she cleaned. Suddenly, the entrance bell rang. Coil, his boyfriend.
“Oh, hey coil!” Slingshot called out gleefully, prancing over in front of them.
“Hey-! Uhm, I have something to tell you.” Coil responded, shuffling his feet against the freshly cleaned floorboards. “This probably isn’t something you would want to hear at the end of your shift.” He murmured.
“Well that can wait. I baked you some things for our movie, if you aren’t too tired.. that is.” Slingshot cheered, grabbing Coils arm and dragging him into the kitchen, forcing the baked goods into his hands. The goods were carefully wrapped in a basket, with orange and blue bows decorated here and there.
“WOW, I mean- uhm, this is amazing! Thank you- I…” Coil stuttered, his hands shaking as he grabbed the basket. “I really do need to tell you something.. please, just listen.” Coil hurried.
“Fine!” Slingshot exclaimed, thrown off by coils rushed tone. “What is it.” Slingshot crossed her arms, his grin shifting to a frown.
“I think we need to um…” Coil hesitated as if a barbed wire was forced onto his neck, his chest tightening. “Just be friends again.”
”oh— I… um, yeah. Okay.” Slingshot took a step back, feeling as if time just had stopped. “Did I do something wrong? Anything?” She panicked, her tail lashing wildly.
“what? No! No no, I just found someone… different. I guess.” Coil shook his head, holding onto Slingshots hands. His touch was rough, but he was gentle about it, to slingshots surprise.
“oh, okay.” He shuffled, fidgeting with coils bandages before pulling away. “I’m happy or you… somewhat..” Slingshot nodded.

Coil exits the café with a sigh, rain pouring down on him. Raindrops trickled down his horns in a soft symphony, as if the clouds cried. They dropped the box of goodies onto the concrete and ran to skateboard’s apartment, occasionally slipping in puddles. Their bandages softened under the sheets of water scattered across Coil’s skin, creating an uncomfortable sensation. Water soaked his clothes, his dreadlocks dripping. Luckily for them, skateboard was home.
“Skate…?” Coil opened the door to the apartment and skateboard was sprawled on his couch watching some corny hallmark movie. “What are you watching—?”
“Shhhhh shh shut up. This is the good part.” Skateboard teased, waving his hand at coil.
“Heh, whatever. Go watch your… movie and I’ll change.” Coil scoffed, his mind replaying the conversation with Slingshot over and over, the guilt practically eating them alive. “I’ll be back.”
“yuuh” Skateboard groaned, slowly falling asleep, still in the clothes from earlier when he was with Boombox.

Chapter Text
As Coil finished changing, the moonlight through the window illuminated the guest room, the various posters and other items gleamed around him. He walked back down the stairs to see skateboard. Despite that, he was sound asleep on the couch, rather peaceful. “Of course.” Coil spoke under his breath, leaning over and planting a kiss over his forehead and covering the figure with a blanket that was draped over the couch cushions. “You’re strange.” He mumbled, walking back to the stairs and up into his room. The morning after, Coil was met with a note on his bedside desk that read “Come visit the skatepark later!!” Accompanied with a doodle of something on the side. “Right… okay.” Coil thought. Not too long after seeing the note he got ready and headed out for the skatepark.
“Skate!!” Coil called out, quickly bolting to his side. “You beat me to it.. this time” he grinned.
”uh huh! You sleep in too much.” Skateboard ruffled Coils hair, smirking.
”Ough stop that—“ Coil shook his head, sticking his tongue out in that mock-disgusted look he gave whenever something bothered him. Skateboard always poked fun at him for it, but it was never anything serious. “What do we do first?!” Coil jumped up, very obviously excited for something. “PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let me TRY your SKATEBOARDDD!!!!” Coil begged
“Chill, dude. You just got here. You gotta watch and learn.” Skateboard grinned, pushing Coil off him and getting on the board, pushing himself forward and sliding down a hill.
”Ouh fuck you.” Coil mumbled, staring at skateboard as he drove himself down the hills. “Er… Skate!!” Coil yelled, trying to get his attention. “Your friend is here!!!” After a couple minutes of waiting Skateboard finally got back, yapping about whatever with Boombox before he left, focusing back on Coil. “Whys he always here—?”
”well he’s my friend soo… put the pieces of the puzzle together, Coil.” Skateboard shrugged.
”I guess. Sometimes I wish it was just us though..” Coil spoke under his breath, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly and avoiding eye contact.
”We share an apartment, coil.” Skateboard teased, shoving coil playfully.
”I know but you usually fall asleep by then. At like… dinner time-!” Coil exclaimed, frowning.
”I don’t know what you’re on about…” Skateboard grinned, forcing Coil to follow him back to their apartment as he laughed awkwardly.
Chapter 4

Kis when,,,,
Chapter Text
After Coil and Skateboard got to their apartment, the sun began to set and it was around dinner time.
“Coil what should we dooo……” Skateboard groaned, flopping on the couch face first.
“Skate take your helmet off. It’ll hurt less” Coil mumbled, sitting down next to him. “Dude.”
”whaat.” Skateboard sat up, taking off his skating helmet and setting it down on the floor next to a couple cans of bloxy cola they used to share during late nights. “What do you want.”
“Wait, nevermind.” Coil looked around, the suddenly the doorbell rang, Skateboard practically jumped out of his skin at the noise which made Coil burst out into laughter.
”Er- Stop that!!” Skateboard yelled, barely audible against Coils overly loud howling. “Ugh.” He grumbled, going to answer the door. It was just mail, luckily enough.
“HAAHHAH—“ Coils laughter faltered after a bit, though Skate didn’t complain much. “Er, what was it?”
”Just mail.”
”About what?”
”Coupons, nothing interesting. I have enough money for all that stuff..” Skateboard huffed, leaning back on Coils shoulder.
“W-What are you doing??” Coils breath hitched, the blue crystal that was held in between the spikes on his right horn flickered rapidly, very obviously reacting to what Skateboard did. “Uhm,”
”Chill, I’m comfortable.” Skateboard hushed Coil, doing something on his phone whilst he hummed something to himself. The lightning accompanied with rain in the background created a nice ambiance while the two sat in silence, some lamp in the corner radiating soft orange light.
Chapter Text
As time passed, neither of them were able to fall asleep. All that was audible was the storm outside and their soft breathing.
”Coil, can I ask you something?” Skateboard looked up at them.
”what’s up?” Coil yawned
”Do you ever think we could be… more?” Skateboard paused, “like, more than friends?” He looked away from Coil for a moment, waiting for his response.
”I— I mean, maybe.” Coil admitted “Why do you ask?”
“No reason, I was just… curious.” Skateboard mumbled, his voice getting quieter, as if he was shrinking into himself due to embarrassment.
”…” Coil thought for a moment, looking back up at the ceiling “Can we?”
”Huh?”
”Can we be more? I’ve been thinking about it recently, I just haven’t been able to bring myself to confess..” Coil sat up, watching skateboards reaction, a wave of unease washing over him.
”Please.” Skateboard nodded, sitting up and straddling him. He grinned awkwardly, looking away as his smile faltered just slightly. Coil leaned forward and grabbed his waist, leaning into a kiss as he tangled a hand in Skateboards hair. Skateboard whined against their lips, grabbing onto Coils shoulder to steady himself. “Don’t ever let go.” He pleaded.
ok bye
Chapter Text
Coil moved down to Skateboards neck, leaving various bite marks and hickeys. The noises Skateboard made drove him insane, feeding him to mark him more over time.
“C-Coil..” Skateboard whined, “Don’t stop..” He breathed, leaning his head back for Coil to continue his ministrations. Coil grabbed onto his waist tighter, their grip forceful, as if it were the last thing they were to hold. “Mmh..” Skateboard groaned, his face practically red. Coils ministrations continued for quite a while, the crystal dug between Coils horn glowing brightly as he performed.
Coils body trembled, letting out a heavy breath as he set his forehead on Skateboards chest. The two sat in silence for a while before Coil eventually fell asleep, his face dug into Skateboards neck and hood. Skateboard grinned weakly, staring at Coils energy crystal for a while before sleeping.
Ok enough of this 😓
Skateboard woke up early, the sky a gradient of blue, pink and orange. He rested his head on Coils shoulder for a while before getting up and pouring a glass of water. He sat on the counter, doing something on his phone as he waited for Coil.
“Uuhhhhg” Coil groaned, rolling over on the couch. His voice was laced with grogginess, their mind reeling. “Skate..?” He sat up, looking over the couch. He slouched over the top of the couch cushions, yawning. Skateboard looked over his phone, raising an eyebrow. Coil got up and walked over to Skateboard, mumbling something to himself.
“Hey Coil can we go out today?” Skateboard asked, moving over so Coil could sit next to him. “There’s something I gotta buy.” Skateboard leaned over Coils shoulder.
“Mhm, let me wake up first though.” Coil mumbled, fixing his dreadlocks. “What do you have to get?”
“New skating pads. Mine finally broke.” Skateboard huffed, rubbing his neck and putting his phone down. “Ease down on my neck dude..” He muttered to himself, though he couldn’t lie it felt amazing.
“M’kay.” Coil grabbed the cup of water, drinking some before hopping off the countertop and going to his room.
“Hey—!” Skateboard exclaimed, though it was as if Coil barely heard him. Skateboard huffed, grabbing his phone and shoving it in his sweater pocket. On his way to his room he finished his water and grabbed his helmet before changing outfits.
Once the both of them were finished they headed out to Zukas shop to buy gear for Skateboard.
“Yo Zuka, do you have any skating pads??” Skateboard leaned over the counter so Zuka could notice him, “I finally wore mine out and I need some new ones!!”
“Mhm, in the back. Get what you need.” Zuka said gruffly, fixing some prosthetic of Rocket’s. “Just give me whatever you got. I’m too busy to care.” He mumbled, tapping the space beside his toolkit.
“Alrighty.” Skateboard hopped over the counter with Coil trailing behind him, looking at something different in his own thoughts. Once Skateboard finally got what he needed he dropped a couple bux beside Zukas toolkit, saying thank you before walking out the shop.
“That was quick,” Coil nudged Skateboards shoulder, “Usually you take ages to find what you need.” He grinned, glancing at Slingshots café a couple blocks ahead.
“I gotta see what’s really worth it. Quality matters, yknow.” Skateboard shrugged, shoving his hands in his pockets. After a bit they found a spot with chairs around the sea they sat down. Coil looked at the café again, a sudden tightness in his chest. He winced before turning back to Skateboard. “You alright?” Skateboard looked at Coil, an uncertain expression on his face.
“Huh? Oh, yeah. Don’t worry about me.” Coil shook his head, looking back at the sea then at Skateboard. “What else should we check out?”
“My ass.”
“What?”
“Huh?”
How do I end this
Chapter Text
“I— what???” Coil looked around, his expression blank.
”I didn’t say anything.” Skateboard shrugged. “Um, can we go back to the apartment? I’m getting tired.” He mumbled, his face flushing as he rubbed his neck.
”yeah sure. You don’t need anything else?”
”no.”
”alright.” Coil nodded, grabbing Skateboards hand as he got up. They began to walk down to their apartment, Coil once again looking at Slingshots café. His chest tightened as they noticed Slingshot sitting at the cash register, her expression blank. Though Coil couldn’t see much other than Slingshots figure at the counter due to the distance it was evident that she was upset about something.
“You alright?” Skateboard asked.
“Huh? Oh, yeah don’t worry about me.” Coil shook his head, looking back at Skateboard. They eventually made it to their apartment, and when they did they both sat on the couch. Skateboard lay on Coil once more, hugging his waist as he got comfortable. “You’re a lot more clingy than I remember.” Coil commented, looking down at him.
”Uhhhgg” Skateboard sighed. “I’m gonna go lie down. I’m tired.” Skateboard got up and returned to his room. “I’ll talk to you later.” He yawned before disappearing into his ‘cave’ as Coil often described it. Coil watched Skate leave, he waited a couple minutes before leaving the apartment. He had to see slingshot, just to check in on her. They didn’t wanna leave him alone for too long cause she often overworked himself, causing him to be avoidant and tired. Too tired to actually enjoy anything and talk to anyone which always worried Coil.
The bell rang, signaling that someone had entered the café. Slingshot popped up from the counter, practically jumping over to Coil.
“Hihi!!!!” Slingshot grinned eagerly, clearly excited but the dark heavy circles under her eyes said otherwise.
”I wanted to check in, because of the breakup. I noticed you earlier and you seemed a bit down.” Coil mumbled, hating to admit that he actually cared. They were always iffy about showing emotions due to usually being smarter than he acted. It confused other people which frustrated them. “Is everything okay?”
”The café has been frustrating, but yeah I’m okay.” Slingshot nodded, calming down somewhat. “Thank you for caring.” She smiled, “How’s skateboard?”
Coil froze, his face turning red at the mention of him. “Oh, I UHM he’s good.” They stuttered.
”Are you alright-?” Slingshot giggled.
“Yeahh..” Coil mumbled. (If he had a tail it would be wagging like crazy just a little silly detail I thought it was nice.)
”I’m glad you’re happy.” Slingshot smiled. “Now shoo the café is closing!!” She pushed Coil out the door, waving his goodbyes.
”oh, yeah um, bye!!” Coil looked around, frowning. After a couple minutes of contemplating they made their way back to their apartment.
ok bye I need to put clothes away
