   Summary

   Avery thought his world was his alone.

   Then the book appeared. Then the exits vanished. Then the forest began to grow underground.

   Something ancient has claimed the mines as its domain, and it is hungry. Avery is not the first nor the last to walk into His clutches---a dispirited knight and a betrayed avian find themselves trapped as well. As they all descend deeper into the mines---deeper into its madness---curiosity becomes obedience, and knowledge comes at a cost no one yet understands.
