Hiccup is taken away on accident by a frantic night fury, searching for her lost egg. she retrieves her egg, but ends up talking Hiccup as well and decides to raise him as her own. As he grows up he is realized to seem more and more like a dragon. When Hiccup and Toothless, Hiccup's adoptive brother, find out their second genders on their 16th birthdays, everything changes.
After the death of Alma, Toothless and Hiccup's mom, they set off on an adventure, eventually returning to Berk.
