  1. Adam Lambert says hmmm

    Awwww… I love me a happy ending!

I also love the bit where the rotten face bursts out of the ford. Shivers. Great line! Very vivid!

I enjoyed the suspense, when we don’t know what Rashida’s intentions are.

And Gisburne lives happily ever after with his much cleverer wife not telling him stuff for his own good. Makes sense. No need for him to worry his pretty little head over complicated things. He can do manly things instead.

Great story! I enjoyed it very much even if it’s not my fandom.

Oh, wow! Thank you so much for taking the time to read this fic and leave such generous feedback when this isn't even one of your fandoms, jackycomelately! That was very kind of you! :-D

I'm so glad you liked the ending! It's definitely on the sappy side, but Rashida kept pushing me in that direction for some reason, so what else could I do? Come to think of it, Gisburne wasn't complaining much about it either. ;-)

I'm still a bit embarrassed that I went the zombie route. I honestly tried coming up with some other ideas, but I kept returning to this one. Maybe I was subconsciously looking for an excuse to write a fic with the Baron de Belleme in it. In any case, I'm glad you found that scene from the ford creepy. I did have a lot of fun describing the corpse soldiers, especially when they were being decapitated. I might have had a bit too much of that going on, but there weren't a lot of options when it came to killing them dead if you didn't have a convenient fire or ford nearby. *g*

I'm happy that this is something else that worked. I wasn't sure if I'd written this convincingly enough for people to question Rashida's intentions, so I'm glad that added a layer of suspense! :-D

LOL! There's definitely some truth in that, though it's also an in-joke for an episode called "The Enchantment". In this episode, Gisburne tries to steal the Baron's treasure and is caught by the Baron himself. Belleme was supposed to be dead at the time but had been recently resurrected. A completely freaked out Gisburne returns the treasure, and the Baron spares Gisburne's life so that he can go fetch the Sheriff and bring him to Castle Belleme. There was also a little climbing accident in which someone named Ralph "fell," but we don't need to go into that. Suffice it to say, I liked the idea that Gisburne wanted nothing to do with the jewels after everything that happened in that episode. It's also a bit of payback for Ralph. *g*

Thanks again for taking the time to read it, jackycomelately! I'm really glad that you enjoyed it! :-D

BTW, now that this story has been posted, I can start working on that other birthday fic I promised to write... ;-)
