Prattle on and on, I certainly don't mind! There are a ridiculous number of characters in Naruto who are either canonically ignored or completely mischaracterized, and I really appreciate incredible people like you that delve beyond what Kishi gives us. I find that Gai especially is often treated more as comedy relief rather than his own person, which is an absolute shame. Even in Kakagai fics, it's usually Kakashi that the story focuses on (which I don't really mind; Kakashi is a wonderfully flawed man worthy of thousands of character studies, but I would really appreciate some more Gai-centric stories because let's be real, he can't always be endlessly blissful and eager, especially not after 699). So no, I don't think you pushed it too far with this one! Again, this was a gem to read, and leaving a comment was the least I could do!
