Did Hashirama even realize Madara hadn’t killed Tobirama?
Good question. Hashirama probably realised it soonafter, because Madara probably told him when peace negotiations started up, but by then Tobirama was clearly Very Married and Very Widowed, and therefore was no longer to be part of political life (officially anyway). He literally is/was expected to devote his life to the dead husband for the rest of his life, and is essentially retired.
have been good for his stress levels which made this story very calm if that makes sense.
Yup. it essentially is Tobirama finding peace in a role he never expected to have, and Madara had intended it as punishment, but it wasn't, not for Tobirama.
LOL it definitely was a lot of Madara coming to terms with his grief, and realising that Tobirama might have killed Izuna, he had not intended to MURDER him, and with peace, there would no longer be such deaths. Tobirama becomes not a demon in his eyes, but part of his clan. (then him deciding to marry Tobirama for Realsies is also fucking hilarious and that's where it officially derails the Fourth Shinobi war, because madara would definitely not go cuckoo bananas after this)
Tobirama is almost definitely going to stay retired.
and probably plant more trees over Izuna's grave so he can get covered in cherry blossoms every spring because Tobirama is secretly a little shit and finds this amusing.
