   I’m glad you are enjoying it. The reason that Journey and Rusty refer to him as it is to signify that Journey doesn’t trust Rusty and Rusty has no personality beyond wanting to kill Daleks. Rusty will eventually be referred to as a he once character development has set in for both characters, and I even have a chapter in mind where Journey tried to figure out if Rusty even consider himself to be male.

      Yeah, I got that Journey calls Rusty 'it' because she doesn't see him as a person (yet?). It's when Rusty reflects on himself that it bothers me a bit, but even so the fic was a great read. :-)
