Aaagh this is so so good!!! The ending, with him wanting to pluck free the Silmaril-stones! I love this piece so much. It’s so dreamlike, in the way that late-night acting is, and so moving with the weight of history behind the ritual. And the foreshadowing - especially the demanding his name!! And oh, delightful little Beren!! This is almost like practice for him, for later when it’s real.
Poor Beren has three separate occasions during the Leithian to be wracked by prolonged fever dreams: Tol-in-Gaurhoth, post arrow-injury, post-hand-loss, and coupled with the deja-vu of his memories of this ritual holiday, he is going to ricochet between the familiarity of doing this before and that Morgoth and the wolves actually aren't anything like Cousins Belegond and Baragund and Great-Aunt Andreth's fake gems. But he's always been a bold sassy little fellow.
