Yeah, there are a lot of problematic things in Rowling's writing when it comes to social justice issues, which is why I have a love-hate relationship with the franchise. It is good she didn't delve more into disability and accommodations because she probably would have done it badly. The series is so strange because it warns of the dangers of hate and ignorance and yet the authour clearly has a lot prejudices of her own.
In my field, many of my fellow scholars who are women of color have... stories they could tell, about the harms white feminists commit to other marginalized folks. I suspect a similar dynamic at work here.
