  1. I can't speak to the intended meaning.
But the interpretation that came to mind seeing a Chloe stripped of dignity & pride by a rival, and then falling as a result.
Implied to me that maybe she's judging herself on the expectations of others.. initially her mother, and then now the mundane as represented by her ex class mates.

As such I read it as her mother's path leading her to ruin, but also he cleaning a mundane apartment (that is clearly beneath her) is her maybe being squashed down in her expectation "to far", Max couldn't imagine Chloe 'Slumming it' in the previous place. So he is assuming she's still full of herself. Luka is seeing she's not egocentric anymore and I think that has him curious, Alya likely sees Chloe as some sort of negative living symbol of her current situation.

So the feelings I had reading this were about the expectations Chloe has place on herself as well as juxtaposed on her by others.
    Both of them seem erroneous.

I am curious to see how Luka will react, as a the moment I get the impression that Chloe has fled the shadow of her past so quickly that somewhere along the way she didn't just loose her past but herself too.

But then I am someone who doesn't tend to resent Chloe for being Chloe her tactlessness and bluntness is part of the charm for me. Especially in a franchise where so many people act up and don't get taken to task for it. Instead though they treat her like a poster child for wrong think, and Chloe's actions and thought were often just something used to gaslight someone.

If Chloe thought something was wrong then that thought must be wrong as Chloe is having it (don't worry if Kagami has the same opinion another time - that is just supposed to be "funny" then).

But yeah as I always say I want Chloe to be able to have an express her legitimate feelings without someone trying to squash her for doing so, as when you think about the things in her life she has to be upset about, not allowing her to have her feelings about it to me at least just seems cruel.

In story this Chloe seems to be expressing a degree of cruelty to herself as if she thinks "I don't deserve nice things".
I hope Luka doesn't lead her down a bad path... and sees the discordance in her, even if Chloe is wilfully deafening herself to it.

Thanks for writing... made me think anyway... (& apologies if my musing are radically different to the intent & you want Chloe to find joy in the ordinary - that is fine too).
