Tbf he's definitely not this bad in canon, at least not at first lol, but I think this Qui-Gon has let him get away with too much and never really tried to teach him about boundaries and has never lectured about following the code much etc lol. It's okay, Padme will be more than happy to let Obi-Wan have this morally ambiguous guy all to himself xD
