Chapter Text

'Well...there's nothing I can do right?'

A soft sigh escapes from the woman's pursued lips, melon like eyes scanning the files within her hands. The sun can be seen settling down in the distance, the rays shining through the window...the light illuminated her bronze skin, casting this golden shadow across her face, golden streaks on her wine like hair.

'It's been 5 months since I've been reincarnated in the world of Love and Deepspace...'

Being reincarnated into her favorite game was something any fan would be excited about. And in some circumstances, being reincarnated means being the main character.

'But...that's not the case with me,' She lets out another sigh, closing the files and pushing away the folder from her sight. The sun glistens even more, illuminating the room like office, where a well organized bookshelf surrounded the office, it's dull surface comparing to the person that resides within.

The desk appeared to be in a mess, the only thing steady and unmoving was the desk name plate displayed for those who enter the office.

And it read the following, the name coated in gold ink.

Lieutenant Luna

'I reincarnated into the life of an unknown NPC...someone who serves no purpose in the Game's plot,' Luna muses, going over to rub her creased brow. She wasn't MC, the rookie hunter...no in fact. She was Lieutenant Luna, a skilled hunter who serves under Alpha Team fraction of UNICORNS. She was Captain Jenna's second in command, the Vice Captain so to speak.

She had no idea such character existed in the Game, making her an unknown NPC who served no purpose. As much as she tried to wrap her brain around the idea, she couldn't recall anything.

'Not only did I reincarnate into this body...I have no idea who she really is,' Luna squirms, rubbing her face to fathom. As she said, 5 months have passed since she's arrived to this world, she has no recollection about what happened to her nor how she got here. She also hasn't encountered any of the Main Leads of the Game. And it made sense, since the current timeline is year 2045, 3 years before the start of the main story of Love and Deepspace.

Luna recalls the time she arrived in this world for the very first time, in the midst of a battle against the Wanderers. Just the mere sight of the creatures made her instantly pass out. By the time she woke up, she wanted to faint again. It took her days for her to mentally prepare herself from this bizarre situation she had found herself in. Luna was surprised she's made it this far with very little knowledge about herself. She wanted to believe it was just a crazy dream.

She barely has info about the real owner of this body she's come to possess; her backstory...her goals...nothing. It was strangely suspicious.

'Not to mention...I don't think I remember much about myself either...' Luna frowns, trying to remember her old self, how she got here in the first place. But her memory failed her, as it was just a meaningless cloud of nothing. She could only groan.

"How annoying..." She huffs, now standing from her swirling chair. It has gotten quite late, now the moon settling into the night sky. Luna changes out from her uniform and into normal civilian clothing.

As she makes it our of UNICORNS building, she was greeted by the other rookies.

"Good work Lieutenant!"

"See you tomorrow Lieutenant Luna!"

Luna waves them off, still not used to the way some of the rookies stare at her with admiration. She wasn't Lieutenant Luna they knew, she was an imposter possessing her body. But it's not like she could tell them that. They would think she's crazy.

Luna found herself walking down a familiar road to home, shoulders slouched after another boring long day of doing paperwork. There has been increasing attacks of Wanderers lately, and the paperwork was never ending.

'I'm still wondering how I'm even keeping up,' She rubs her neck, strained. She never imagined being a hunter would be so draining, since the game never truly showed the behind the scenes. But now being an NPC, this line work was truly nothing to laugh about.

The skies began to dim, dark clouds covering the moon's light. Luna looks up, her eyes squinting at the sky.

"It's gonna rain?" She mutters to herself, feeling a cold shiver run down her spine from the wind. Luna wasn't sure how long she's going to stay here, but as much as she's done underground research for her situation...even going as far as asking around the dark web but there was nothing she could find for her situation.

Was she truly stuck in this game until it's very end? But even she wasn't aware of how things will end, since the time Luna was reincarnated, the game had just completed the 5th Male Lead, Caleb's branch: Homecoming Wings. There were rumors about the 6th Male Lead, but for her to know who...Luna was left in the dark for that matter.

Before she could meddle within her thoughts, a gurgling scream makes her jolt from her walk. She's alarmed, her eyes scanning the area. Despite not wanting to go an investigate, she was a Hunter.

"Guess I'll be putting in some over time," Luna sighs, feeling her holster as she makes her way where continuous screaming echoes. She finds herself standing the entrance of an alley, her eyes scan the situation quickly; a screaming man holding his shoulder, the other, a shadowy silhouette hovering him with his sword unsheathe.

Given to her perspective, the man with the sword was threatening. Luna tenses, reaching her gun and quickly takes position.

"UNICORNS Hunter!! Put your hands up!!" Luna recites, steadying her pistol at the armed man. She was unable to see him due to the lack of light,  the dark alleyway covering his identity.

At her warning, the other man clicks his tongue before suddenly sprinting towards the other end of the dark alleyway, leaving behind the other. Luna too runs.

"Hey!!"

But he was long gone, making her stand closer to the silhouette. Before she could make another move when something cold hovers dangerously near her neck. Luna didn't have to think much about her situation, making her tense.

"Who are you?"

Her body felt another shiver run down her spine, that voice eerily recognizable. Luna slowly turns her head, her widen eyes meeting those piercing sky eyes...

The night sky finally clears up among them, finally illuminating the silhouette's expression. Luna's eyes widen, recognizing the face of the stranger before her.

It was Xavier, one of the Male Leads of Love and Deepspace.

The moonlight glistens like silver streaks across his face, his pale brow furrowed at her presence, eyes narrowed and cold, his pale skin with no blemishes...perfect even. His silver like hair seemingly glowing under this perfect light.

He...looked so breathtakingly beautiful...

"I said--" His cold tone sharp like the blade in his hand pierces her attention. He steps closer, his eyes warning her, "--Who are you?"

His sword had drawn her blood, the red fluid trickling down her neck...his heartless actions made her freeze. Why was he being so hostile towards her?? His collegue if she may add.

"You're Xavier! We're both from the same fraction--!" Luna couldn't finish, trying to move away from his warning blade...only to be pushed up against the wall. She cringes at the pain, Xavier's sword still hovering her neck.

"I've never seen your face," Xavier's tone continues to mock her, his eyes piercing cold, "Are you with Onychinus?"

Luna couldn't fathom her situation, too scared to understand why Xavier was treating her like she was an enemy. Her eyes shake slightly, feeling intimidated under Xavier's warning eyes.

'Was he always this scary?'

Luna had forgotten how much differently Xavier treats others compared to MC. She had also forgotten she wasn't MC...she was just a meaningless NPC in their eyes.

Those eyes that reflected the skies, eyes that hold so much love and affection in the game. Now are just heartless with no emotion, staring at her with no sign of compassion for her terrified face.

This...was Luna's reality.
