Summary
Arthur is used to his wife excusing herself from meals early and retiring to her rooms, and to his first knight being unavailable at coincidentally very similar times. He's also used to his manservant's sudden and inexplicable absences, usually right when something urgent and equally inexplicable is taking place. He doesn’t question these things, largely because he already knows the answers and has had enough time to adjust to them (well, he’s adjusted to Guinevere and Lancelot’s relationship; much as he cares for Merlin, Arthur sometimes still has difficulty believing he’s anything other than his largely incompetent manservant, let alone the powerful being Arthur has reason to think he is).
What he's not used to is Merlin disappearing at the same time as Lancelot and Guinevere, and he's quite sure it can mean nothing good.
