"And whoever manages to ignite the motor first can leave- that also will give you points."
Finnick looked to Annie. She stood up, her hair swaying in the wind. "Deal."
She turned to him. "Well, Odair? Do you take that dare or are you that much of a chicken?" Her eyes glinted with the mischief of the chase.
He quickly shook himself to be rid of the flush. "Uh, yeah. Of course. I'm *not* a coward."
Two stolen boats, a dare and a race.
A childhood memory Finnick Odair always carries even when she doesn't speak to him and he forgets all about her (not really)

An idea sprang to her mind. She spent the rest of the night tossing and turning, planning.
By the time the sun rose, Annie leapt from the bed, itching to get to Mags' workshop."

Summary
It's the 70th reaping, and Annie Cresta still doesn't fully process her possible impending death, for now she is more concerned over the fact Finnick Odair wants to be her mentor.
They haven't spoken properly since their faithful argument when he left for the Games, when they were fourteen and thirteen and on the casp of something... something.
But to survive, Annie realizes that this new version of Finnick might actually be able to save her, and maybe, she should let go of their history just enough to make it out alive- hopefully.
