Miyamoto Usagi had been a prisoner and a fighter in the Nexus for almost a year now, since his kidnapping at the age of thirteen on the day of his elder brother's birthday. His parents had their hands full with his nine other siblings, and Usagi was the fifth youngest, making it so easy for him to slip away after his third sister had broken his favourite toy out of spite.It was just too easy to take the boy who had been too emotional to think clearly away, and then selling him to the battle Nexus overseen by the greedy Lord Kimitaka had been even easier.
And yet, somehow despite his misfortune, Usagi had survived. But at 14, Usagi has been selected to fight in a death match.

Wei Wuxian has had a horrible month.
Which, unfortunately, is nothing new. Fate picks its favourites, but it loves tormenting them too. But this month? This month has been especially rough.
From meeting the Hamato family and being tasked with stabilising the youngest Hamato’s unstable mystic powers; to isolating himself for days after learning the boy who reminded him of his dead son was leaving, to being forced to face old ghosts and familiar faces from his past—
Overall, 10 out of 10, would not recommend.
Apart from Wei Wuxian having the worst meltdown ever during the battle against the Nexuns and the Kimitaka beast, things have mostly returned to normal.
And well, Wei Wuxian doesn't want everyone who hears his name to go digging up his past. He'd rather let that part stay dead, too.
