Summary
There were those who assumed the radio demon didn't sleep at all.
They were incorrect – he did sleep, albeit at somewhat reduced hours than what most would consider standard – but it was still a requirement.
So, on the occasions where it eluded him entirely, he was, unfortunately...
Not at his best.

Summary
What had Lucifer gotten himself into?
Why had he said that? Why had he invited the Radio Demon to his rooms?
Well, thinking before he made absolutely ridiculous decisions wasn't exactly what he was known for, hey, his current residence could attest to that.
But why the everloving fuck had the sinner agreed?

Summary
There were a lot of things Lucifer liked about having Alastor in his bed.
The white noise the demon emitted, for one. That was actually really soothing, especially when some piano or soft jazz started up while Alastor was still asleep.
The fact that Sleeping Alastor seemed to be much more open to cuddles and spooning than Awake Alastor was another bonus.Yep, Lucifer considered himself the resident expert on sharing a bed with the radio demon.
And he'd still never experienced what was happening now.

Summary
Alastor looked around at the actual, genuine darkness, pure night around them, not just the shadows he used or the lack of any light that a fully sealed room brought. The kind of darkness that, after a moment, one realised wasn't actually darkness at all, the pale light from the stars and moon above casting everything in faint, washed out colours.
The moon.
Oh – he'd not seen it in ninety years, or thereabouts – he'd never noticed how bright it was when he was alive.

Summary
The fact that everybody in the hotel now knew Alastor was involved with the king was both a relief and an annoyance.
A relief in that they no longer had to so carefully plan their movements, or maintain the facade of being bitter enemies – though according to Vaggie, nothing much seemed to have changed. They continued to insult one another - the only difference, according to her, was that they now openly shared a room.
And an annoyance in the fact that Lucifer seemed to have taken this newfound freedom as an excuse to grope the radio demon any chance he got.

Summary
Alastor couldn't see anything. Nothing at all - everything was black.
A blindfold had been tied over his eyes at the same time a rope had looped itself around his wrists and yanked his arms behind his back, moments before he slipped through the weightless feeling that could only indicate transportation by portal.
He had been making his way upstairs, ready to prepare for his broadcast before being so rudely abducted.
“You're completely at my mercy, Radio Demon. How does it feel, to be under the power of the King of Hell?” Lucifer went on, and Alastor's grin widened, his heart skipping a beat. He hadn't been expecting this, but it really was quite delightful. He hadn't even heard the man enter, and his ears swivelled to follow the sound of his voice.

Summary
When one had made a decades long habit of always wearing the same coat (or newer, identical copies when one simply couldn’t be salvaged), it really shouldn’t be a surprise that to be seen without said coat might invite questions.
As though Alastor walking around the hotel in his shirtsleeves was the most interesting thing that had happened since Adam was defeated.

Summary
There were a lot of things that Lucifer had asked of him that Alastor didn't really have a particularly personal understanding of – and he was rarely, if ever, reluctant to go along with any of it. New experiences were something of a commodity, after nine decades in Hell, and the fact the king had somehow managed to show him so many was fascinating in and of itself.
This, however – this might have been the strangest request yet.
“You want me to do what with my shadow tendrils?” Alastor asked, drawing back from the other man with a furrow lining his brow, his smile twisted and confused.

Summary
If God didn't make mistakes, then that implied that he'd meant for Lucifer to feel this way – to be going about his life, everything actually fairly positive for once, when, out of nowhere – a crushing, bleak, consuming hopelessness would sink into him. Invading him so thoroughly that it took every scrap of mental fortitude he possessed just to get out of bed. Bathe. Eat something.
Sometimes, when things were bad, he only managed two out of three.
Sometimes one.
And sometimes not even that.
So, if God did make mistakes – did that make Lucifer his biggest failure?

Summary
Of all the things Alastor seemed – well, happy might be a strong word, Lucifer was still kind of unclear on how he actually felt about all this. Agreeable to – yes, that was better.
Of all the things Alastor seemed agreeable to, kissing appeared to be surprisingly low on that list.
And Lucifer? Well, Lucifer liked kissing.

Summary
The weather that was about to hit Pentagram City was the sort of thing one might see only once in their deathtimes. The kind that had Lucifer strengthening the wards around the main infrastructure of the hotel, as well as the specialised wards around everyone's quarters.
The kind that, even with the strengthened wards, he warned people off straying from those rooms and into the corridors until it had passed. Those too were warded, yes – but the brunt of his attention was localised on the private suites of those staying in the hotel.
The kind of storm that had everyone retreating to the rooms of those they were closest with – because as soon as the howling, screaming wind started, even the hardest amongst them felt a certain disquiet deep in their marrow.
The hardest amongst them – except, of course, Alastor.

Summary
Alastor had been painted in blood many times in his life. Mostly other people's – less enjoyably, his own – but never had it been so artfully done as this.
Truthfully, he almost abandoned his plan entirely, admiring the way the red shone against his fawn skin – he did look good in red, after all. He added another mark to his upper left shoulder, his head twisting the full one eighty degrees so he could see himself in the mirror.
He looked downright terrifying – exactly the sort of devil worshipper mothers warned their children about, clad only in a pair of black undershorts and painted from neck to hoof with patterns and symbols he didn't fully understand – but which he copied out with a painstaking level of attention to detail from the book Lucifer had reluctantly handed over at his request.
He thought back on how surprised Lucifer had been at his suggestion.

Summary
If Lucifer was honest with himself, he would admit that his relationship with Allie wasn't the healthiest looking apple on the tree.
But hey, honesty wasn't what he'd gotten famous for, now was it? Father of Lies, king of wishful thinking – Allie had played that song on her broadcast, just after Lucifer had let slip one little 'you're mine' too many.
No, he was definitely a liar – even if the only person he could convince was himself.
Even if he was doing a pretty shit job of even that.

Summary
“Tell me when your birthday is.”
“No,” Alastor answered him, the same answer he'd given every time Lucifer had asked. And he'd asked quite a few times, having found out only recently that Alastor didn't celebrate his birthday.
Look – that as a whole wasn't too unusual for sinners. Celebrating the day you were born – when you were, in fact, as dead as a door-nail – well, it could be a bit of a sore point. And Lucifer wasn't even going to touch on those sinners who celebrated their death days – those guys were on a whole new spectrum of insanity, one he didn't want to go near.
What was weird about Alastor was that nobody even knew when his birthday was.

Summary
There was only so much coffee could do.
And short of lacing it with cocaine, Alastor wasn’t sure having another cup was going to help him.
Between spending his days managing the hotel for Charlie, and his nights managing her father – Alastor had started to become rather exhausted. Run down. Asleep on his feet and ready to drop, his energy reserves utterly spent.
Not that he’d let anyone know about that, of course. Even if he had been staring at the same report for the last ten minutes, not taking in a single word or number on the page.

Summary
Lucifer had never asked to be a dominant.
Never asked, and never wanted to be.
Seriously – it was bad enough that once humans came along he felt like he had to pick a gender, but then to have this dynamic foisted upon him as a consequence of his fall? As if he hadn't already been punished enough.
None of the Submissives Lilith brought home had ever sparked that same feeling in him that she seemed to experience, that possessive desire, the urge to have them. He figured maybe his dynamic was broken, just like the rest of him.
That was, of course – until he met Alastor.

Summary
Lucifer had been delighted to discover Alastor had a praise kink.
Alright – maybe delighted wasn't exactly the right word.
Fucking ecstatic, over the moon, beside himself with glee – all of those phrases would do a better job at describing his feelings about finally knowing how to twist Alastor's radio dial in just the right way.

Summary
Lucifer was having a bad day.
That wasn’t anything particularly new – if he added up the number of bad days in comparison to good, over the course of ten thousand years, he was pretty bad was leading that race by a country mile. They’d just been… less frequent, of late. So the fact this low mood had crept into him, fastened itself around his psyche like a demonic spider, sucking the joy out of everything he looked at-
Well – it was disappointing, to say the least.

Summary
Lucifer didn’t really go in for all the human holidays. They’d changed so much over the years in any case, it was hard to keep track of – first something was a celebration of fertility, with parties and drunkenness and the occasional hare sacrificed to encourage a good harvest – and now a magical egg laying bunny brings chocolate eggs to kids, the holiday co-opted by those wild mega-fans of his dad.
Seriously – people thought K-pop fans were bad.
There was, however, one tradition he’d chosen to embrace this year specifically.
Mistletoe.
