Summary
“You want to talk to me? Al-Alone?”
Owen shifted on his feet. He didn’t really care if Avid suspected him of being a vampire. It’s not like anyone was going to believe him anyway. Besides, with the way things were going, the townsfolk were going to find out soon enough. “Yeah.”
“Oh-okay, um, just give me 8 to 15 minutes—“
.
.
.Sometime in the early days of Vampires, Owen and Avid have a conversation.
It changes everything, but also nothing at all.
----------
just a little oneshot of me using a fake conversation as a character study of the parallels between these two. becaus e i need them to have SO many conversations about their backstories.Series

Summary
“What… what happened?” He’s quickly gaining lucidity, which is a very good sign. Unfortunately, that means he also has enough of a mind to panic. “Wh-why am I here?”
“I found you nearly passed out while I was taking a walk around town. You were outside the walls and clearly not well, so I brought you back to my house.” He describes.
Avid makes some sort of noise, which the doctor cannot decipher the meaning of. “Oh!”
————————
Avid has a secret he’s having an increasingly difficult time keeping, and Legs is suddenly the only person in Oakhurst to know the identities of all the vampires.
They have a talk about it.

Summary
“Ah, hello there,” he greeted warily, yet still put on a kind smile. “Come in.”
The bat’s wings flapped once, blurring into a mess of white and red until the man himself was standing in the middle of his house/clinic. How wonderful.
Owen brushed himself off, “Hello, doctor. Always nice to see you.”
Legundo paused as Owen’s eyes bored into him, sharp and uncaring. “…You as well. To what do I owe the pleasure?”
Owen’s face tightened slightly. Nearly unnoticeable. Was he angry? Nervous? Legundo couldn’t quite determine its origin. “Well, I wanted to continue our conversation from earlier. Besides, you are a… fascinating character.”
-------------------------
Legundo is visited by a vampire deep into the night, and provides the strangest medical exam of his life.
-----

Summary
“Pyro—okay this act is really convincing but this is hurting—“
“What?” He shouts, digging his claws into Avid’s arms. Then, quieter, “What do you mean, ‘act’?”
Avid looked around, whispering, “You-You were nervous about Scott thinking we were working together, so I said we should pretend I was holding you hostage! So it looked like we were still enemies!”
“You what?!” Pyro shouted, uncaring if someone heard his frustrated yelling.
“I don’t know!” Avid squeaked. “I panicked!”
“That’s—“ But the longer Pyro thinks about it, the more he holds hope it might work. But… no, this would be betrayal, and he must not betray his Sire! But if it does, he could speak to Apo—or the doctor—he could find a cure. This would be the second time he lied. There is no home to return to with the humans, Sire is correct. He always is. But he doesn’t…
——————
After a chance encounter in the woods, Avid pretends to kidnap Pyro in an attempt to have a genuine conversation. It goes… surprisingly well?
——————
Or, I got the pyro disease, and I need someone to Please God talk to this man.
(Set after Avid is turned into a vampire, but before Apo is ‘kicked’ out of town.)
