After Argosax' defeat, Dante finds himself wandering alone in hell, prey to his own demons...until a casual encounter with a shadow makes him find also Vergil, battered and confused, but deffinitively alive. Now with a reason to come back, Dante must face hell and his brother's trauma if he wants to get out alive, and take Vergil with him. But, how much of Vergil remains in that broken body and destroyed mind? Is still there, hidden below the weight of torture, or is lost forever? (I suck at summaries, but there is drama, I promise XD)

Summary
After escaping from hell in one piece (sorta) and recovering Vergil from the clutches of madness, the call of a fragment of the Yamato and an apparently easy job takes both brothers to the city of Fortuna, where Vergil will have to face a part of his past he thought was forgotten... and the consequences of his actions, and Dante will discover there is much he doesn't know yet about his brother's past, linked to a conspiracy greater than they believed.
Note: for this fic's purposes, I have altered (increased?) Nero's age from what it should be considering the canon post DMC2. Don't murder me. Let's pretende time in hell flows differently.
