When the kings of Greece come to conscript Odysseus for the Trojan War, Penelope of Ithaca knows one thing: she will not lose her husband to war, and she will not let her son be used to take him. In a desperate attempt to save her family, Penelope offers herself to the war effort in Odysseus's place.
Penelope is whisked away to Troy with her army, and a devastated Odysseus is left to raise his infant son alone. Even when the war ends, their trials do not. Penelope faces gods and monsters while Odysseus struggles to rule Ithaca and protect himself and his son from the malevolent suitors seeking his hand.
Essentially, the plot of EPIC, but Penelope and Odysseus's places are switched, and the Ithaca side of the plot is quite a bit darker.

You have read the odyssey, listened to the musical, but you see it through the eyes of men. But the weavers of fate are women, and so the weaver of the story is not the man before you. Rather, perhaps you must listen to the women behind, who’s strings and threads choke the lives of men, all while you believe in their honeyed smiles and innocent eyes.
There are 5 of whom you will read, a WIFE, a SERVANT, a SISTER, a MENTOR, and a DAUGHTER. Each perspectives and belief more different than the last. But one thing unites them, the story of Odysseus, and the grand manipulation of it that they each hold a thread in.

“Why won’t you take me?” she whispered, her voice breaking, another kiss swallowed by the weight of her emotions. “Why won’t you fight me like you did before? Why do you think I’ll break?”
Circe stilled beneath her, and Penelope swallowed down the truth she couldn’t bear to voice.
“Why won’t you treat me like you did Odysseus?”
The words left her in a broken sob, and with them, the floodgates opened. Tears fell freely now, shaking her shoulders, her body curling inward even as Circe lay beneath her, silent in the wake of the confession.

Or, Penelope decides to go search for Odysseus after reaching her breaking point. She ends up on the isle Aeaea, and meets the godess Circe; who changes her view permanently on such husband.
