What it would be like for Baz and Simon if they had time to exist in a relationship at Watford, post Christmas break? Essentially, if the Humdrum mystery was uncovered at the end of the year rather than at Christmas, how would the characters interact?
A story following the two boys as they navigate a new relationship, one that Baz thought would never happen, and that Simon had never even considered.
Also, as I've continued to write, I think I've progressively lost the plot. So this may be rewritten later :)

“Give me your hand,” Baz says, and I don’t know what I think he’s going to do with it (take it as moral support, maybe), but I don’t expect him to cast 'off with your head'.
The Mage’s head pops off of his body, like a cheap toy (like a Robin Hood action figure that one of the kids in care left behind when they aged out). There’s hardly any blood, which is good, considering Baz is already holding a hand over his mouth to keep me from seeing his fangs. The whole White Chapel smells like iron- I’m surprised he’s keeping it together so well.
I’d always thought I’d be more angry when one of the Old Families tried to kill the Mage. He was my mentor, after all, but I’m just so tired. His head rolls to my feet, and I think about how it doesn’t quite look real. I’m still hanging onto Baz’s hand, but I haven’t looked at him yet. He’s shaking, I can feel it.
