The look of shock and utter disbelief on her face was something Akito would never forget. You could have told him he was carrying a dead body on his back, and he would have believed you.
“Sweetheart, what’s on your back?!” she called, rushing over to tug at the fluffy addition protruding from his lower back, likely testing if it was fake. He yelped in pain and accidentally smacked her in the face with his tail.
“Eh?! What the hell is that?” Akito mumbled, utterly flabbergasted. He reached behind him to touch his new tail, his face contorting in horror.

Akito doesn’t understand why he now has a tail and ears, or why he can smell and hear practically everything. This had to be some sort of joke, right?
