Summary
In 1941, James Buchanan Barnes enlisted in the Army, leaving behind his 8-year-old daughter, Elara. By 1945, she was told he died falling from a Hydra train. Weeks later, Steve Rogers vanished beneath the ice. Grieving and alone, Elara was captured by Soviet agents and forced into the Red Room. Brainwashed and enhanced with the Super Soldier Serum, she endured brutal Hydra experiments, becoming one of their deadliest weapons. With the power to manipulate subatomic matter and raw energy, Elara completed over 300 assassinations by 17. Then she vanished, cryo-frozen and forgotten. In 2012, during a covert SHIELD operation, agents found her in a cryogenic chamber. Awake and terrified in Times Square, she learned she hadn’t aged in decades. Now a Level 10 SHIELD asset under Fury’s protection, Elara struggles to reconcile her haunted past with the rising threat as the Avengers emerge.
