Oscar flinched, heart thundering in his chest as he whipped around to face the source of the voice- for a brief moment, he saw a girl with black hair and a bright white cape- and then he blinked, and the white cape was replaced with a tattered crimson one.
That had been happening more and more lately.
Visions.
Memories from past lives seeping through into this one.
Just last week he'd almost had a heart attack because he'd thought he'd seen James standing in the headmasters office, but when he'd doubled back he'd found the place empty.According to Ozpin, past memories seeping into the present was normal, but it was extremely heightened in his case- he hypothesised it was something to do with trauma and anxiety.
Ruby- not Summer, not Qrow, not anyone from a past that wasn't his own- stood there, looking worried.

Ruby paused- her mind automatically flitting to the worst possible scenarios, before she shook her head and slowly began to inch closer.
She peaked through the crack in the door, reaching slowly for her trusty scythe and-Her silver eyed gaze landed on minty green hair and dark skin.
Ruby blinked, sighing softly as she smiled slightly, letting her hand drop away from her weapon.
Emerald.It was strange to be so calm at seeing the green haired ex-criminal after so long of hating her- but, when you fight side by side with someone enough times, it gets pretty easy to trust them.
Plus, Emerald was... pretty nice- not perfect, no one was, but she was nice.Ruby frowned as she continued to watch the green haired fighter, concern beginning to flood her.
Emerald was sitting on the floor, her back against a wall, her knees drawn to her chest- her arms wrapped around her legs, Emerald stared blankly at her hand.
She looked exhausted- more than most of them."Emerald?"

Why couldn't things just be simple, why couldn't he just be a Huntsman like he wanted?
