TK loved these outings with the team. He loved it since the first time they all went to the honky tonk together after one of the first shifts the 126 ever did after the restoration. It was even better now that they were so close they were family and spending time together was as easy as breathing. It certainly helps having an incredible husband to dance with now, too.
TK feels like he barely ever sees him anymore. He comes home late, he leaves early, barely drops by at the firehouse to visit. They don’t talk, they don’t go on dates, there is little to no affection given. The distance is growing by the day and he can’t stand it.
But he promised he’d be here tonight. And TK will latch on to the little time they get to spend together like a starved man.

“Stars,” Carlos echoes, fascinated, looking towards the sonogram again. “Tell me about them.”

Cecil isn't exactly human. Carlos always had suspicions about Cecil during his first few weeks in Night Vale, but didn't find out until he and Cecil began meeting up and going on actual dates. Cecil was both terrible yet horrible at hiding how non-human he is.
Carlos was simply a human, and by this point he had studied his husband extensively, and by now he loved knowing that there was practically no-one who knew Cecil better than himself. However, Carlos was also an unfortunate specific type of human. A Scientist.
Cecil, as a Scientist, decides to fuck around in the lab with some of Cecil's DNA. Due to unforeseen circumstances, Carlos suddenly gains certain... inhuman characteristics that mirror his husbands. Well, this is at least the perfect way to run some experiments. With Cecil of course. Absolutely not because Carlos is curious on what it feels like.

It’s been two hours since their home burned down, and Carlos is shutting down.
TK’s not sure how to deal with this version of him. The thing about TK is that he’s an incredibly tactile person, and Carlos knows this and indulges it more than he should: he thrives on being close to his boyfriend, on small touches and stolen kisses and hugs where he feels like he could melt into the other man.
This Carlos has all but iced him out. TK knows it’s not deliberate – he’s struggling with the loss of his home and his possessions. He’d be worried if he wasn’t. But TK’s lost things too, and without Carlos’s anchoring touch there’s a buzzing growing under his skin.

After Cecil finds Kevin trying to give himself a bath and having a panic attack, he does his best to help him. He gets him clean and calmed down, then Carlos comes home with answers he forgets to explain. At least Kevin is relaxed and happy with his pacifier and dinosaur toys that attack each other ferociously.
Now, Kevin spends much of his time regressed because his mind can't cope with his reality crushing him. He's getting better, though, he thinks. He hopes. He's getting better and he's making Cecil and Carlos proud.

Cecil didn't know what rage was until he watched Animal Control switch off the StrexPet. There had never been anything for which to foster rage in his life, or not that he remembered until now. Everything that he felt angry about as a child had been retroactive- anger at his mother for treating him as she did, anger at his sister for her resentment of him despite his having no control over their circumstances. Anger at himself for fighting too often, for fighting too little, for giving too much of himself away, for not giving enough. But none of that was real, in-the-moment blind rage. No, that was simmering and old, festering like an old infection left untreated.
