Ozval se již dvanáctý úder věžního zvonu a Jan Ptáček věděl, že se jeho krátký život blíží ke konci. Přes veškerou námahu se Jindrovi ani nikomu jinému nepodařilo popravě nijak zabránit.
Pod panem z Pirkštejna byl jedním z popravčích podkopnut malý špalek. Ptáček se se škubnutím snesl o pár centimetrů níže, přesně o tolik kolik stačilo, aby mu tlak lana znemožnil další nádech. Troskami se rozneslo mrazivé ticho. Zdejší lid byl na popravy zvyklý, ale nikdy to nebyla příjemná podívaná. Jako by ale nikdo nedokázal odvrátit zrak od houpajícího se těla mladého šlechtice. Nikdo kromě Jindry. Sklopil zrak, jen co se popravčí přiblížil ke špalku.
Jan Ptáček z Pirkštejna však místní šibenici zdobil ještě několik dní. Pro výstrahu. Jaký čeká osud toho, kdo si dovolí se dát na pytláctví.
I přes to, že Jindřich měl se ztrátou blízké osoby již zkušenosti, nedokázal v ničem nalézt útěchu. Chyběl mu jeho... přítel. Bylo tolik věcí, které by mu chtěl říct, ale už nemohl. Ne tak, jak by chtěl...

I felt an irresistible urge to climb the stairs and tell him everything. But he likely still had much to do. I decided to wait a little longer.
Footsteps echoed in the hall, breaking the silence and my train of thought. Then came two knocks on the door—familiar knocks I had heard a hundred times before.
My heart skipped a beat.— Henry. You can come in."
This text takes place within the main plot of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
While our protagonists are under siege at the fortress of Suchdol, Henry is tasked with infiltrating enemy lines to escape and seek reinforcements. It is a desperate and extremely risky attempt—but it is the only way to win the war. The decision has been made. Hans would have wanted to accompany his dearest friend, but his noble status prevents him from doing so.
The meeting ends with this decision. Hans needs to be alone. He reflects on his relationship with Henry and how it has evolved over the past few weeks.

C’est une tentative désespérée, extrêmement périlleuse — mais la seule solution pour espérer remporter la guerre. La décision a été prise. Hans aurait voulu accompagner son plus cher ami, mais son statut de noble l’en empêche.
La réunion s’achève sur cette décision. Hans a besoin de solitude. Il s’interroge sur sa relation avec Henry, et sur la façon dont elle a évolué au fil des dernières semaines.
