Summary
Kara Zor-El lived her entire life as a normal girl, then her planet exploded.
Stranded on a damaged ship and forced into a healing coma from the kryptonite lying beside her, she remember living a previous life, one where she was a man and the DC universe was just fiction.
Now she must make her way towards Earth, make sense of her two sets of memories, and protect her little cousin from the kinds of dangers lying in wait in the universe.

The world is mostly Young Justice. This is NOT an SI but Kara has lived another life as an OC where DC was only a comic book universe.
Kara's body isn't taken over by a different soul, she remains Kara Zor-El, but simply remembers a previous life, almost like an amnesiac regaining her memories.
WARNING: Kara starts in a very bad situation and her exposure to kryptonite for so long leaves a mark on her, but it is NOT the focus of the story, the fic isn't about angst.
