Summary
As a juvenile, the Captain had been rather fond of bonfire night. In the past he’d look back fondly at the clips and memories in his mind of the street gatherings, hearty laughter and drinking, and the roaring fires that lit streets and faces up in a brilliant ombre of warm oranges and welcoming yellows.
But now those memories were locked in a very small box in the Captain’s mind, fuzzy, faded, and not even considered for a moment as he cowered beneath the bureau in Button House’s study.

The Captain despises bonfire night. He hates the bangs, the lights, the thoughts. But with the help of Kitty and the warm memories from his past, he learns that getting over his fear isn't as awful as he thought it would be.
