Kotone waits, but Kirijou doesn’t continue. It does draw her attention at least, to Kirijou’s averted gaze, her lower lip drawn between her teeth. Uncharacteristic uncertainty. Kotone breaches the gap between them to nudge Kirijou’s shoulder.
“And?”

“Here,” Shiomi says, and taps a key. “Supposedly this is one of those true story things, although I think the footage itself is made up. Do you like horror movies, Kirijou-senpai?”
Mitsuru blinks. “I’ve… never seen one.”
This is true. Before high school, Mitsuru never had time for movies, and even in her first year with Aragaki urging her and Akihiko to live more as normal students, they hadn’t really been keen on horror. Aragaki had grumbled and called it gimmicky, and Akihiko went suspiciously silent every time they came up. Mitsuru always kind of got the sense he could be needled into watching them, but it was never something she was interested in, on account of…
Well, who likes being scared? Mitsuru doesn’t. But Shiomi looks interested, a big smile on her face as she processes Mitsuru’s response.
“That’s what I thought,” Shiomi admits, with a tongue-in-teeth grin. “Will you humour me? I really want to watch this, but I didn’t want to do it alone in case it was scary.”

Mitsuru makes a point of checking on Shiomi in the leadup to the fight with their final shadow. Shiomi is more interested in spending time with her.

Well, her actual last words weren't really words and more screams as the flesh melted off her bones, but who's keeping track, anyways? Minako doesn't know why things happened the way they did that night, or what that monster was, or the robot, or anything really, but she's going to find out no matter what.
When the opportunity arises for her to reasonably stay in Tatsumi Port Island again, how can she refuse? Maybe she's finally strong enough to enter that damn tower. Pharos told them it's a bad idea, but when has she ever listened to his advice?
