Summary
Bucky’s love is constantly on his mind, and has been since he left Steve’s house a whole month ago, following their secret reunion during the graduation party…since he got Steve’s note while he was kept captive at Shield Academy in May…for the last fucking year, really. For a lifetime, if he could bear to think about it. And it has been a whole year — or, at least, it’ll be a whole fucking year this Friday.
If you’d told the Bucky Barnes of a year ago that he’d not only be best friends with Steve Rogers, but head over heels in love with him, Bucky would have laughed in your face. But it’s true, it’s wonderfully true. And he wouldn’t trade a moment of what he and Steve have shared. OK, maybe he’d trade the month-long mental, physical, and emotional torture of attempted brainwashing he endured at Shield, perpetrated by Pierce and Zola and authorized by his own father.
