Picking up in the middle of the conversation at Mile Marker 17 in Episode 3 of Season 6... Nick has just helped June rescue Moira and Luke from an abandoned water park in No Man's Land. In the process he had to shoot two Guardians. They have now driven back to meet Mark Tuello who wil take the three back to their Mayday camp. They are standing in the woods, with he headlights of both cars as the only light. Everyone has moved towards Marks car and Nick and June need to say goodbye to each other. Again.
This closing scene for Episode 3 left me certain that Nick and June would find each other again, in a good way. But instead, they broke my heart.
So, this is my attempt to fix the story starting right there in the woods, while Mark Tuello, Luke and Moira wait for June to say goodbye to Nick. And what could have been after that.I'm becoming a little obsessed with all the points in the story that could have taken the story the way I wanted, but didn't.

She'll help the Americans take down Gilead with whatever she can offer, but she has to focus on herself, just for a while. For her sanity, she has to move forward.
Serena can't stay at the refugee center any longer. She's a woman without a country and she has nowhere to go. Nowhere. Tuello offers to find her a family willing to take them in until they can sort out living quarters for her and Noah. But there is only one person Serena trusts.

Following an exodus of handmaids from Gilead prompted by the uprisings of June Osbourne, Gilead introduces a new law that allows men of Gilead to take a second wife to increase the chances of fathering children. Two-wife households are governed by the "Rachel and Leah Law." The new structure also creates a social dichotomy between the primary wives (the Rachels) and the secondary wives (the Leahs) which cause them to fight amongst themselves and determine status.
Frida Stone was once a highly respected attorney who never wanted to marry or have children. Now she is the second wife of her once best friend and now husband Christopher. She is highly embittered by the change in her status and she desperately wants things to change. Frida is prepared to start a full 'June Osbourne' style rebellion of the wives. But she knows that if she remains a lone voice in the crowd, her outspokenness could land her a place on the wall.
Frida needs help to encourage the wives to unite. And a certain wife, recently fallen from grace, might be the key.
