Summary
The only people who know of cultivation are people close to the emperor, cultivators have their own large portion of China that is an unmarked island far off the shore. A few years after the events of MDZS, the Lan sect receives a call for help from the world outside of cultivation. The sect decides to send their head disciple, Lan Sizhui, out of the highly protected world of cultivation and into one filled with non-cultivators and an odd young man that Sizhui has definitely did not adopt as a little brother.
