Summary
Alternate Title: Sequel to Frozen but it's about court intrigue, lesbianism and hating colonialism.
With Arendelle suffering from food shortages and a lack of trade partners after the events of Frozen I, Elsa swallows her pride and courts the infamous Farthest Shore Company (Not!the East India Company) as a trade partner. She needs to strike a deal, and a balance. If the Company gets too much power, Arendelle will be subsumed; if their deal is cancelled, people will starve. The delicate balance isn't helped by Elsa's deteriorating sense of self-worth, her advisors' nervousness about her powers, or by the fact that the company's trade representative is rather pretty, actually...
(This fic is rated M for swearing, a viewpoint character with self esteem in the toilet, catholic guilt, and discussions of colonialism, genocide, starvation and other dark topics. Slow-burn fic and it will take a while to get to the lesbianism, sorry.)
