Summary
All Blitz and Fizzarolli want is to leave behind the snake pit of Emerald Court and start over. But being the Court Jester/Spy and Royal Guard/Assassin for the avarice and self-centered Prince Mammon doesn’t exactly make for an easy escape plan.
But when a blotched assassin nearly costs Blitz his life and exposes Fizzarolli’s cover–they see a chance at freedom and take it settling in a sleepy marsh town in Rogue River Valley.
Taken under the wing of the tavern’s cheerful owner Charlie, her tough-as-nails wife Vaggie and the town’s colorful cast of wayward residents: self-conscious bard, Moxxie, bombastic mercenary, Millie, eccentric Witch Doctor, Alastor, flamboyant former mistress-turned-dressmaker, Angel Dust, cantankerous barkeep Husk, and many more.
What follows is an unorthodox attempt at self discovery as Fizz and Blitz earn their keep by breathing life back into tavern-turned-safe haven for outcasts and find themselves a home, a family and maybe even a second chance at love in the form of sweet and energetic Apothecary, Stolas, and outrageous Toymaker, Asmodeus.
