Summary
When Adelia's prior engagement to a fellow noble fell through, she suddenly found herself engaged to a monster in human skin. Lord Emmertal was known for having been married trice already, each wife not surviving his home and just as Adelia thought she, too, would have to walk to her death dressed in white, someone else unexpectedly demanded her hand.
Lord Rowan Morrow, one of the warlords of the Wilds, an untamed, harsh land filled with worshippers of the old gods and monsters, a man with a bloody reputation and full of secrets. But as the closest friend of the king, he was not denied his request and so she found herself handed off to him instead.
Time would only tell if he was a better choice than Lord Emmertal.
