Honestly, this will be mostly very slow torture as Delia recovers. I don't plan to include anything that wouldn't be appropriate in the show, but I will add specific content warnings at the start of chapters if necessary. What with the period, homophobia is a given, unfortunately.

“Mrs. Turner, your husband seems to have a form of amnesia. He is aware of his identity; understands why he is in hospital; and also knows he himself is a physician. However, he seems to have lost almost a decade’s worth of memories. From what we can ascertain, he believes it is the year 1952, perhaps 1953.”
After suffering a blow to the head, Patrick wakes up with amnesia, missing an estimated ten year’s worth of memories. He remembers Timothy, but only as a little boy; still believes he is married to Marianne; remembers Shelagh not as his wife, but as Sister Bernadette; and has no memory whatsoever of Angela.
This is a Series Six re-write, focusing heavily on Shelagh and Patrick’s relationship as he adjusts to living with amnesia, the friendship between Shelagh and Sister Julienne, Shelagh’s pregnancy with Teddy, and as much hurt/comfort content I can fit into one story. :)

"I suppose, in this case, Sister..." Dr. Turner stepped gently towards her, like one might approach a wounded animal, with the utmost care and caution. "It's you who decides."
She had already made up her mind.

Trixie has always prided herself on being above bigotry, has always defended those who have been unfairly targeted, but she can't quite control her discomfort when it comes to lesbians. It's not discomfort with them, not really. It's deeper than that. But what is it? When Patsy arrives at Nonnatus House, Trixie is thrown into a whirlwind where she must look within in order to go forward with her life.
Or, Trixie's bisexuality is deeply repressed. Patsy's arrival to Nonnatus House and her relationship with Delia forces Trixie to confront herself, accepting a truth that is very hard to hear.

A vow of obedience relies absolutely on those in authority being just and honest and motivated entirely to do the right thing, always. When that isn't the case, whatever the reason, then the consequences can be heart breaking.
